Hey guys, i feel very bad to say that the gold snatching incidents have shot up in our city in such a manner that my mother and my sister are not wearing any ornament while going outside.
Gold ornaments were snatched from my sister when we had gone to leave her. There a guy came and took away the gold locket from her within seconds and we were left helpless. Besides my mom got scratches near her neck when two guys were trying to snatch her gold locket. Thank god nothing happened to my sister and my mother. Gold has gone but i am happy that my mother and sis are safe.
Recently a gold chain was snatched from my friend's mother while she was on her way back to home and she was severely injured after the snatching incident as she fell down from the vehicle and the two guys left that place very quickly. To make it even more worse, police department is doing nothing to ensure that such incidents are stopped in our city.
What are your thoughts on this? Have u ever experienced this type of cases? What do u think can be done to check these cases? Please do share your views!

I am so sorry to read about this horrible incident! Crime is everywhere - not only where you stay. Likewise the police here are helpless. I do not wear any jewelry at all because I seldom feel safe when I am walking. The robbers do not even wait anymore for night time to rob a person. I think it is because they know that the police cannot do much... It is a hopeless situation...

Thanks a ton for your valuable response. Yes i totally support u on this that even police is helpless in these cases, they cannot even chase and trace a particular criminal. Night outings or pubs are not safe places for ladies as u never know when these criminals might get involve in such activities. Even i feel the same that ladies should not don jewellery especially at night.

I think this is very common in some cities everywhere. Being a city would mean many people, all kinds of them. Snatchers, pickpockets, burglars or any other crimes you can name, the city have it.
It's good that your mother and sister were not badly hurt. While in the city, I think the best we should do is, be alert and always on guard. And if possible never wear valuable things especially in public places that might tempt ill minded people.

Thanks a ton for your valuable response. Yes u are absolutely right, when u are staying in a big city it is quite evident that there would be ill minded people living with the good people. Yeah even i am thankful to the Almighty that nothing happened to my mother and sister. After that incident i think many ladies have decided not to don any precious jewellery even if they are attending the parties, such is the fear developed in the minds of the ladies.

Thanks a ton for your valuable response. Yes after such incidents not much ladies are donning jewellery or any precious items as they always have this fear that they might be attacked by the criminals and in the process get hurt. Yeah there are many who are brutally attacked whenever they refuse to cooperate with these ill minded people and in the end either they are badly hurt or are killed by them. i do not know when there will be an end to this.

In my country it is called 'cash for gold' as people do weigh gold right there on the street and pay cash so crimes in this area has increased. The criminals will steal gold and sell to these people. The price of gold is high right now. We women, have to take precautions and not wear gold on the street any more. It is a difficult crome to solve as the criminals move so fast and usually work in groups so that no one near the person robbed can go to their assistance. Very sad.

Thanks a ton for your valuable response. Yes u are absolutely right, it has become risky for a lady to don gold or any precious jewellery and walk freely on the streets. Even those wearing and preferring to go by four wheeler are also not safe from the minds of these criminal. These criminals have very sharp mind when it comes to stealing gold and even in groups they have learned how to take away the jewellery.

This is also happening here in our country and now ladies are not wearing gold ornaments anymore.
Instead, women wore fake fashionable jewelries to avoid this incident of snatching.
Wearing gold ornaments is too dangerous and may lead into accidents.
Good to know that your sister and mother is unharmed- hope those snatchers will be caught soon.

I definitely not agree on the ladies in your country which wore fake jewelries just to avoid incidents of snatching. Well, let me add some points here. Wearing even fake jewelries still can trigger the culprits to do snatching. First thing that will impress them is the jewelry that wore by such ladies. Secondly, they will surely attempt to grab it off without any appraisal beforehand considering the fact that a certain fashionable ladies are commonly not wearing fake ornaments. Thus, the gravity of harm brought by it still there. Advisably, avoid wearing jewelries in any public places - such jewelries are advisable to wear during special occasions only.

Thanks a ton for your valuable response. Well i m surprised to know that such incidents are common in your country also. I think these incidents are so disturbing as people's life are also at stake. Fake ornaments should be donned by the ladies so that they do not attract the attention of the chain snatchers. Even i am thankful to God that nothing happened to my mom and sister.

Thanks a ton for your valuable response. Yes i completely agree to you on this that ladies should not even don any jewellery be it real or fake. i have seen even chain snatchers have tried to cause harm to a lady who was wearing an imitation as they thought that it was real. I think if u wear artificial or fancy necklace or chains then it is fine with the ladies.

What a bad experienced brought by those snatchers to your mother and sister. Trauma will surely the effect on their emotional and psychological factors due to the said occurrence - hopefully it won't that serious. Anyway, such kinds of incidents are also very rampant to my country (Phils), some worst cases scenario happened was ended up getting the life of the victims. There are culprits (snatchers) who have no heart and very brutal elements that when you refused to give what they need surely they will kill you eventually without any hesitation. The life of people are seems not that important and precious to them, what keeps them more important are those things that they can actually gain money to support and sustain their vices. Sometimes, rumor headlines to the public that the mere reason why such criminal are not eradicated and still determined to do their wicked works because the law enforcers itself are the sole protectors. Such law enforcers who are tasked by the government to protect the life and property of every individual out of any harm and losses and to maintain the safety and security of every people in the society. However, and needless to say, that the persons that we are expected too are not performing their work well according to their oath, conscience and principle as a security servant of the people. Truly indeed that there's no safety on this world. Thus, one thing we can do is to be more vigilant and take extra care all the time. Because if the government will not cut the weeds that stop the weight and balance of justice, these heinous crimes will remain recurring and chronic and the sad thing is when these will be more deteriorated and aggravated in the future.

I can say that snatchers know how to appraise fake and real jewelries.
And what I wrote is...fashionable jewelries- therefore those jewelries are not gold or fake gold...fashionable jewelries are made of plastic, feather and big materials.

Thanks a ton for your valuable response. Well chain snatchers before giving their snatching activity a reality make plans so that they do not get caught in the wake of snatching the ornaments from others. They also come on vehicles that have faster speed so that they can escape easily after snatching. They know which jewellery are fake and real.

@ Subhojit10:
If the law enforcers or lawmakers failed to imposed abrupt resolution on this recurring issues by way of reforming the penalties implemented herein, still the possibility of occurrences relative to snatching were augmented its percentage into a higher figure. These snatchers has no concerned of human life as long as they can get something out of it for there personal satisfaction - it is then okay with them even if they can hurt people or harm a life. Sometimes, I can ask myself. Why crimes vastly increasing in any country? - is this the result of poverty? or the lack of implementation of the law wherein the justice system can be influence by someone and will be inverted eventually? I still cannot see the very root cause of this? can you have the idea? if yes, please share...thank you!

Unles policing is increased in such areas and some of the guilty quickly punished, such incidents would not stop. It is a pity and shame. Another option could be increased vigilance by some of the Resident societies, but there too police must provide some form of help.

Thanks a ton for sharing your valuable response. Yes u are absolutely right, police patrolling has to be increased to check such incidents. But the police department has to support the residents in this thing, because it needs to be done on a daily basis and just a single day of patrolling wont do the job. it is a collective responsibility altogether.

Thanks a ton for your valuable response. It is terrible to hear that even such cases are active in your city also. i think police department have a major role to do to stop these crimes like street patrolling and installing cameras on the streets but they are not doing any such things as a result of which u can see such crimes escalating in our society.
