Recently, I got an offer in odesk client for writing articles. He is ready to pay $1 for 50 words and this mean to me very artificial . So, I requested him to pay me upfront money. However, he immediately disagreed to my request and also went offline. So, I got a doubt on him and I want to know the ways to get my money back in odesk site if the client does not pay me. In case the client cheats me without paying money how can get my money payment back.Let me know the ways without being cheated.

Well, first of all check the reviews of that employer. You will get usually an idea of the employer from the reviews he has got.He need not have a perfect 5 of 5.But the reviews will give some picture of his working style and things like that.Next, check if his payment method is verified. This is perhaps the most important thing in odesk. If his/her odesk payment method is not verified then there is no point in working with him/her.Odesk will not come to our aid.In you case, the employer has not agreed on upfront payment and this seems to be a fixed term assignment.Well, you need to make a decision based on his reviews and things.Message him whether he would be fine to pay per article and as a milestone in odesk. If so fine, else it would be a risky thing as well.I have rejected some of the jobs whose employers does not have verified things in odesk.I am glad to be away from issues and things.I play safe in odesk. But then Odesk does help the people over there with payment and things like that.So be aware of these things before taking up any assignments.Hope that would help you in odesk. Thanks!

Well did you get hired on Odesk? If not then you will not get paid and if you did not do the work then you will not either. Another thing when you ask for upfront many employers do not want to be cheated either, so they will not agree. The only way to make sure that you are paid is to make sure that you are hired on Odesk for that job. I will say that they amount is fair especially compared to others. Also if you do the article and they do not like it then they do not have to pay, but they usually state that in the description. Good Luck!!!

If you were hired on Odesk and it was listed in your jobs. The job has to be listed in your jobs page then if they do not pay you then you can contact Odesk, but Odesk does not deal with cases that are not on Odesk. This is why it is hard to take jobs that pay through paypal, because many know that if they do not pay you then they can get away with it. Make sure that you are hired on Odesk and paid through Odesk. Some employers where they pay through paypal, but that is a chance that you have to take and most of the time it is not worth it, but sometimes it is.

You should first look for clients who are trusted and have been on odesk for a long time already. You can see that in their profile if they have stars and great ratings. Maybe you can tell and negotiate the client to give you have the payment in case he runs away. You can always give a bad comment on the client if he does not pay or report it in odesk.

I am also new to odesk. In your case, $1 for a 50 word article is impossible. There are a lot of honest payers at odesk. You may check your client's profile if he have already spent money to his contractors. If not, then it will be suspicious. Good luck my friend! Just find an honest and experienced client. Odesk is a great site!
