Mother turned 80 and danced the night away!

whaaaaaaaat hahaha that's a great spirit.. such a woman indeed. yes, losing a mother is different. we have lost a lot. when we talked about her (my siblings and I) we used to shed a tear. then it was a regret that we did not give her comfort in life before she passed. but we knew that she passed happy... she was cooking lunch (because it was my sister's birthday when her day ended). She even called my eldest sister to have lunch with them.. (not with me because I was at work when it happened). when she was found in the kitchen, everything she prepared and chopped on were arranged.. and the knife was on the working table, too. meaning, when she felt something she managed to sit on the floor. ahhh forget about that story... Yes, enjoy the presence of your mother... and dance the night away with her.

Mavic123456 now you had me crying. This is so sad about your mom... It must have been a huge shock when they found her on the floor!! I am counting my blessings with my mom. Thanx for sharing your story.

Sorry to hear that your mom passed on Mavic123456. I will enjoy my mom while she is still with us. She told us recently she will not die, but wait until Jesus comes on the clouds! Can you believe this woman!

That is great! Take care of your mom and give her the love she needs. Love is actually all they want when they become old and vulnerable.

This lady is unbelievable. She has given her whole love to serve and love us - her kids, and still has so much time for her grandchildren. We are truly blessed.

I bet they do listen to her. They know better not to! You're so lucky. My mom passed away at 87 in 2005. I miss her every day. But I'm happy for you to have your mom to be close to.

Thank you deazil! My mom is quite a character and she acts like the matron where she stays in the old age home! The people there respects her and even listen to her when she reprimands them... haha.

This woman just do not want to grow old. It is amazing that her mind is still 100% active. Perhaps because she is doing such a lot of puzzles each day?

but sometimes I when I think of me, an age of 70-80 is good enough for me if I'm still active like your mom. But if I'm an old person that would be taken care of, I would pray for God to take me.

I would not like to be a burden to anyone when I get old. If that happens I would also want God to take me home. I am so glad that my mom is still healthy!

It also inspires me vernaC when I hear of elderly people who still has a zest for life. My mom has taught me NEVER to give up on difficult tasks in life, but to persevere. She is a great example to all of us.

Nice to hear that your mom will also have a 80th party soon! Make sure you have some nice dance music for her and have lots of fun! Elderly people full of life does not like quiet parties. I think they want to show the world that having fun has nothing to do with age.

Happy times are precious and life is so short. We should enjoy the time with our loved ones.

Wow - your mom in law is 82! I also pray to God to keep my mom healthy and safe. She really takes good care of her health and is a real example to many.

Mom just loves parties where she gets the opportunity to dance! She really does not act her age!

As long as she can be with you all, she will be blessed, I am sure. enjoy her birthday on Saturday and spoil her!My mom's one knee also gives her trouble, but she is using medicine every day for the pain. Cannot believe that she still danced with that knee!

My mom also enjoys her soapies,and would even tell us to switch to her TV channel when she visits! She is a real blessing and also insists to cook when she visits me. I told her that she is old enough to have another husband (she is a widow for the past 30 years)but she said she is not prepared to wash stinky socks... haha.

So sad to read that you never knew your mom. I am blessed to still have my mom around. Saturday was great and she enjoyed it so much. Her best treat was having all her grand children with her!
