I can't express in writing my ideas inside my mind :(

Philippines
January 14, 2013 9:22am CST
Good day Fellow Mylotters, For some reason I find it difficult nowadays to write an article though I have a lot of ideas in my mind. Just like the day before yesterday, a lot of ideas are joggling inside my mind however, the moment I sit in to write it down, I can't express it in writing. And I am a bit worried since this is part of my task for me to earn. Wondering if there is an antidote I need to take for me to able to express my idea in writing. And honestly, I feel sad for what is happening, as I really can't express it down.

the only way to break this habit is by writing. Perhaps you never keep what you write until something good comes out, but, when you write and express yourself somethign is bound to work eventually. I know it sounds a pain but it is the only solution I have found for this kind of writing block.

yes, and as they say, practice makes perfect. Maybe by doing this it will in time be easier to "get out" your ideas

That's what I was thinking of "practice makes perfect". Some don't always think this way in terms of writing.

hello, aira. maybe this will help-- always bring a small pad or notebook with you. Once these ideas pop up write them down as they come make sure your handwriting is legible and don't worry about the organization-- when it comes time for you to sit down to it that is the time you sort it out. Good luck!

This is similar to my suggestion but having the notepad nearby you will always be able to write it down.

Have you always written? Were you the little kid trying to write the great novel in crayon? Not everyone is meant to be a writer. One of the worst things to arise out of widespread access to the internet is this belief that anyone can be a writer. That is not true. Some people's gifts lie elsewhere, and those are what they should pursue. If you are really meant to be a writer, the words shall come. If, however, your talents lie elsewhere, pursue those other talents.

I feel the same I have lots of ideas and even plots into my head but when it comes the time to write them down I Am at a lost where to begin! I did a course in short story writing a few years ago also I did quite well my English was not good enough I guess writing is like playing an instrument to some it comes easy and to others don't I suggest you keep trying don't give up you never know what the future holds for you.

The plots are hard to organize, to me. I have a hard time with details about anything though.

Hi there Mavic123456, I am grateful that I was able to do at least a short one. However, what I need is a longer one where I can do some promotions. Because only in this way, I can hit my target earnings.

I'm a writer and I've had writer's block before. I think you are fretting too much. Why not try an experiment? Rather than sitting down with the intention if writing an article, just sit down and collect your thoughts. Begin to write or type your thoughts without trying to organize them. Let your thoughts and ideas flow and just write what comes to mind. You will build from there. I always do.

I have been jotting down what I would like to write about on my other sites but nothing for here. I guess I could start doing the same for here too. This is new for me because the thoughts just pop in and out, so with writing them down they are closer to being written to share online.

Don't feel to bad. Everyone gets writers block. I know, just how you feel. I have been going through, the same thing. I felt, like I lost something. I once had. For me right now. I believe, it has something to do with the time of year it is. I lost both my parents in January. Although, it has been years, it still affects me. It seems like everything that I do write, just doing go down, the way, I thought, i Good luckt would. I just keep at it.

Something similar often happens with me too.I have joined Mylot and a couple of article writing sites, but I am active in onlyone of them.Reason?Sometimes I can't express myself satisfactorily in English which is a foreign language for me.Whenever this happens,I break the sentences I want to type into two or more small and simple sentences. This strategy works.Still it takes me a lot of time to make my sentences impressive.I would like to suggest you to the same.Take an idea that's striking your mind and then try to give vent to it in very simple and small sentences.

Good day Angelpink, As much as I want to, but, I can't. I need to work, work and work as I need to earn, earn and earn. Hence, I have a target that I need to achieve. Though I believe, resting will somehow help. Thanks for reminding me my dear.

I think you have to concentrate on writing. Just take a break and come again. If you stay for longer thinking you can't write. It happens to me also sometimes. So have some rest and try to write again. When some ideas come to your mind just jot it down. Then you won't fumble. Try this and see if it helps.

I am more of a fiction then an article writer and I do find it hard to start a discussion here because I think, what if it is not good enough? What if someone can do better then I, or what if it is so trite that I would be ashamed to put it out there? So I go right for discussions that I feel comfortable about responding to or when something happens that really affects me, then I write. It could be that you feel the same way, that you may have to get so something really affects you or hurts you, that you have to write. Writing many articles on your day is not the right idea. You could try practicing - I got a writing booe and one of the exercises was 'what if' and it presented a scenerio. That might help. You have to imagine something and then write about it.

My friend, you do not need to worry about anything as something like this is perfectly normal. It's quite the common thing to a writer like you and I - if then other professions have the detestable picture of a cruel hair-pulling boss who yells at you every day, every morning - as a writer, you get this: the writer's block. This is our shared enemy where almost everything we say and put down into words seemed dull and empty. But, I will be a little bit near your face to tell you, "That is all a lie." Sometimes we tend to expect too much that it compromises a big part of how we judge. And how we usually judge ourselves in this stage is that we compare our writings to others, perhaps the most famous writer you know, or it can be someone else you felt a rivalry ever since. Whether its Shakespeare or your old journalist friend it doesn't matter, the big punctuation there is "YOU CAN NEVER BE LIKE THEM." You will always be that airasheila, remembered by your works, your style, your methods, you! Because we all have our own J.K.Rowling and Stephen King inside us and no one is changing that. That's always how it works - no exception. I've noticed you said "I can't express it in writing." I take that as your creativity still works with you and that is not the worst block you'll hear around here. So here are the things you should do. Get out! You might have been just sitting there for some time now pulling out ideas and words while you stare at that blank wall and ceiling. Change some things that becomes the "habit", break your routines and do something new because a new experience always drives out that inner idea hiding inside you - or maybe, in the contrary, clump up all the things that you usually do or have while writing. If you always have that cup of coffee beside the keyboard then get that cup of coffee! If that is a classical music in the background then play something that will get you the "mood." Cheers my friend. Be of good spirit. We all have that kind of problem. And its your obligation to break it. Have a great day.

The way I see it, you are a great writer and you can express well your ideas. Well, personally, I can read several articles having the same idea as what I have. What I do so that my articles would be considered unique, I would always associate it with my own experiences. This way, I was able to express my own idea at the same time, I am certain that this is not copied from the idea of others. Have a nice day!

I think your answer as to why you can't write is in your comment to the second response. "work, work, work. earn, earn, earn." You should maybe relax, relax, relax. There's a lot of pressure to work and earn. The stress is preventing you from expressing yourself on paper. Others have suggested you sleep, rest. Do you practice Yoga? Even a little will help. Close your eyes and breathe deeply and slowly. You will begin to relax. Don't try to think of anything right away. Everything will fall into place for you but first you need to relax, peacefully and quietly. Slow everything down. Don't read too fast, take your time. You'll see. It works. Relax.

I understand that sometimes as well. Have so many ideas in this big head.. and no idea where to start putting them into words. So you arent alone there.

Try just writing whatever comes to mind. Then you can organize and revise.
