my cousin's son was baptized yesterday morning. it's also the child's birthday so it was quite a celebration. there's a lot of food and videoke machine. some bought liquor and it wasn't long before alcohol took over. some of the drunk people slept with their head on the table. some were randomly dancing and shouting some really weird remarks. glad that no one vomitted.
i have nothing against drinking as long as you put the alcohol in your stomach and not in your head. you should also learn when to stop. anyways, drinking is something that would never disappear in celebrations.

shame on them. Mexicans are the same way here. When someone celebrates something they act like its a ticket to drink. Wrong......

i think we can't really separate these two. it just has to be controlled. and sometimes i feel like people just celebrate anything as an excuse to drink. hahaha.

Might be right, but why do people tend to drink when kids are around. I have never liked that one at all.

Drinking is bad for a health if it is too much. It is okay to drink as long as they ate something or they drink less. It can be dangerous if they drink too much.

Thanks for sharing this topic iluvsabado. Well, in my country it is actually part of the program when times of yearly festive and family occasions/celebrations. Traditionally, people, visitors, friends and family members tend to have a perfect and joyous celebration in every events celebrated. Wherefore, drinking, singing, chatting, playing games etc was definitely included in the rosters of agenda. Drinking is the top-most highlighted part in which celebrators were fun of talking with each other while having a shot glass of liquor. This is precisely adding up the enjoyment and merriment of the party. However, sometimes, drunkards are seemed to be out of control when times of too much liquor has been drink. The are some who are engaging misunderstanding and worsen become a fight. It is actually changes one's behaviors much more of those loner person whom seldom expressed their emotions when they are normal being. Bottom line, It should have be a proper management every time we engaged drinking liquor. I will not against with it but must be handled cautiously to avoid troubles.

there is no problem in drinking as well as getting drunk as long as you know your limits as well as how to control yourself.:)

well, there are some people who don't know how to control themselves. as long as they have liquor to drink, they will drink until they pass out.

Its a shame when people forget where they are when they drink too much. A childs baptismal really isn't the place to get sloshed. Most people enjoy drinka and parting but they should really remember to do it at the right time and the right place.

Its people perception of thinking about drinking. Some feel like we can celebrate only by drinking.
But i do feel celebrating can be of other ways , like we can feel happy by dancing singing etc.....
Some feel like drinking.
But what ever be celebration is , we should be ever in our limits
So that we don't disturb others.Everything should be kept in a check.

Trouble is some people will just drink and drink, they seem to think the more they drink the more they enjoy, well I have seen what drink does to some people, it doesn't make the gathering more enjoyable it makes it embarrassing and can ruin it for others. I don't drink, but I am not against people who drink, providing they drink sensibly. I've been around those that cannot take their drink and it's no fun, or being on the receiving end of someone's aggression when they are in a drunken stupor.

i remember when i attended a graduation party with some of my friends. one was so drunk he vomited on the garden. it really was embarrassing. just good that it was already late and there are fewer people. still, it's such a shame for the owner of the house.

This is one thing that I do not like.
Here in our place (in Manila) I am thankful that this activity is not common here in our are.
Maybe because our place though not an exclusive subdivision but 75% retired military residents.
There are some occasions where tenant (some have tenants) had drinking sessions- but with limitations.
Noise is also not allowed- we have baranggay ordinance here that singing (karaoke) is not allowed after midnight (unless during special occasion like fiesta, xmas and new year.
Drinking outside home premises is not allowed too.

i live in taguig and there's also an ordinance against drinking outside. with singing at night, i guess it really is the personal choice of the host. in our case, we don't allow videoke singing after 9.

i don't think they provided liquor for the guests. some of her guests, who are co-workers bought it for themselves to consume.

This is one part of the celebration I don't like as much as possible if there's occasion in my family I try to celebrate it outside like restaurant or clubhouse so we can manage the time and don't let them get drunk too much for there is certain time allotted for the whole celebration. I am not against drinking either but not to that point you were stated in your discussion, they are all wasted.
