Will Modi be BJP’s poster boy in next Lok Sabha polls in 2014?

The BJP has stormed back to power in Gujrat for the fifth time and its leader Narendra Modi has been elected as the Chief Minister of the state with the credit of winning three Assembly elections in a row. But given his much bigger national profile and the larger- than- life image, he has acquired over the last decade, Modi’s hat-trick immediately set off a clamour from the BJP rank and file that he be declared as the party’s prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 general election. I think Modi’s big hat-trick in the state is sure to fuel in him the great ambitions of going national. It is true that Gujrat wants Modi but does Modi want Gujrat only? Will it be Rahul VS Modi in the next Lok Sabha polls in 2014? Do you too want to see Modi as the next Prime Minister of India? He is successful as the Chief Minister of Gujrat but do you think him to be successful as the Prime Minister of India?

Narendra Modi is surely on fire. Though I'm not so interested in politics, I know a little bit about him. I've read he has made a lot of changes in Gujarat in his tenure and most of them proved good for the common people. He has also had a lot of controversies. Though he wasn't nominated, he was taken into consideration for the post of the president of India, or that's what the rumors said. Anyways, he surely is doing a lot of activities nowadays and is likely to be the poster boy. Whatever it is, I think our country needs a good ministry since there's a lot to be done in the country. A lot of problems have to be solved, the education system has to be improvised, the law needs improvisation and there's so much to mention.

Hi Doctor In my view yes MODI will be the next poster candidate for BJP as we can see no other such candidate in BJp camp at present ,the only other person we may find is Sushma swaraj ( very far behind Modi) .The Gujarat elections result will give them the boost for sure .Yes he is a strong candidate of 2014 prime minister,But i like to see some other person as prime minister of India ,who has good record and should have clean chit.

Like you, all others belonging even to the anti-BJP parties admit it, not publicly but privately that Modi has changed Gujrat a lot and so he is the ideal candidate for prime ministership, if BJP comes to power at Delhi. But it is also true that there are many other factors which may not go in favour of Modi. So, we have to wait until the Lok Sabha election is over and BJP comes to power.

Obviously modi is the BJPs icon for next lok sabha elections. He becomes very popular all over india after his third consecutive victory in gujarat. Modi may also want to become prime minister of india. But there are all lot of factors involving in prime minister post. Surely modi is lacking in some of the factors.

the main problem is, bjp is trying to establish themselves as secular political party and with mr.modi as a poster boy it is not going to happen. besides there are many in his own party who dreams a lot about being the next pm, they will definitely not help to happen this. but it is definitely a fact that what he has done for his state as a cm( which has helped him to be the cm once again for the thrd term)is amazing. the cms of many other states can only dream about that. besides the other big name like gadkari has got scam allegation on his own name, so it is hard to think he will appear as a poster boy. if that happens many will be surprised by that decission including mine. i personally think there is a lot of chance for mr.modi to be the next poster boy. what we can do is just wait to see if it really happens
