FInally the GH writers are giving us some fun. Lucy Coe!!!! She is so funny. She was a blast when she was a regular. But back in the early 90's I believe it was, they did a spin off of GH called Port Charles. Lucy was the main character. Lot of fun things went on...and it was cool cause they made each story 9 weeks long. They didn't drag it out for months and months! So if you are wondering why....here's why.... Her reaction to eating duck....she had a pet duck name Sigmon. I forget how she ended up with it, but she got it...a white duck...and she kept it like it was her child! It was kind of silly, but done is a good way that made it just a funny storyline that they dropped in on us during every week! Her reaction to seeing John McBain....John Easton (The actor that plays John McBain) got his start on Port CHarles. He played a priest at a tiny little country church,,,tiny little chapel more like it. Anyway, he was a good priest and then it was discovered that he had a twin brother that he was hiding in the basement...who was a VAMPIRE!!!! He was of course trying to protect his vampire brother and hopefully change him back. I don't remember how it all ended, but Caleb was the Vampires name and that is who Lucy knew...and is shocked to see John as John looks exactly like Caleb! This should be fun! And so you know too.....Kelly Monoco who plays Sam, also got her start on Port Charles playing a girl named Livvy... I think it was she that had a candle shop and they had some hocus pocus story lines going on...but she, if I remember right, is the one that discovered Caleb the vampire....so...when Sam comes back from the bathroom...and Lucy sees her...Lucy is going into shock again cause she will think Sam is Livvy. So this should be really fun! Plus...I dont' remember how they ended the vampire storyline, and I am thinking that they can't make John be the vampire in his past as vampires can't be out in the daylight and John always is...he was a regular on OLTL so they have to include that time of his life... but...maybe he is the third brother...they were identical triplets! The priest, the vampire and the cop! That would be a great time in PC if they did something with that! Or maybe he was the priest and just changed his name and went into law enforcement cause his calling at the church turned out to not be such a good calling. John Mc Bain has a brother named Michael ...from OLTL...he is a doctor in Washington state. So it could come out that he and Michael are half brothers...different fathers or mothers or something like that...adpoted maybe. Johns father was a cop and as a kid John wanted to be like him...so maybe he left the priest hood to be a cop like dad. This should be fun!

I vaguely remember watching a few episodes of Port Charles before it was cancelled. Just an episode here and there. Not well enough to remember any characters though. At that point I wasn't watching GH. I want to say it was the only channel we got as we had just moved and didn't have cable yet. Anyway that explanation explains a lot I thought she had just lost it. Although she is Lucy so saying that she had lost it isn't exactly a stretch of the imagination. I wonder if they will play that into the storyline. Or if they will just leave it like she is crazy. The only downside is if you didn't watch Port Charles no one is going to get it. I noticed they played some night shift into GH though. Not everyone watched Night Shift either so some people were a little lost. I was actually laughing at yesterdays episode. I liked John's comment when he said something like "Don't worry Buffy I will be back".

Yeah, if you didn't watch Port Charles, you won't get the storyline or the "why" of it. That is why I am telling everyone so you can enjoy it! I hope they do something fun and excentric with this! The first "story" on Port Charles (each storyline lasted 9 weeks and was over!) was when one of the young interns found an old computer from back in the 70's and hooked up with the mother of his girlfriend and she was talking about having an abortion (she was in high school) and he "went back in time" to tell her not to, cause he was in love with her daughter in present day! It was really cool and fun. Then the Vampire story came about..it was fun and excentric and intriguing and a nice breath of fresh air to the usual who's the daddy and who's cheating and all that.

I don't know it seems a little far fetched even for a soap. Then again I get that they seem to do a lot of far fetched stories from time to time. For example the Robin and the alien visitor thing. I didn't watch at that time either but have heard about it. I am not sure how I feel about it. Seems interesting at the least. I also read that Ian Buchanan (Duke) was a vampire on Port Charles too which would explain Lucy's reaction to him today. I would just like Duke to stay Duke and not be a vampire lol. I think poor Anna has been through enough with the Faison thing. Even he seemed to act like something may be up after Lucy's reaction. I also have to say Ian Buchanan's tweets now make more sense. There was vampire references I didn't get until now. I am open to the story line so long as they don't completely ruin their ratings over this. They are taking a chance. I am waiting to see where it goes. I am not sure how I feel about it. I have to say at the very least it has my attention.

I think they are fun storylines. A breath of fresh air from the constant usual who's sleeping with whom, who's the baby's daddy, and who killed whom and gets away with it and of course, who is divorcing whom! I don't remember Duke being in the Vampire line on Port Charles, but then it has been a long while ago! Lucy did say his name and all so he must have been there! I wonder if Duke being a vampire will have anything to do with him being kept alive all these years! Maybe Fasion is the REAL King of the Vampires! Thatd be cool. I just hope they do something with this....I am so tired of the same old stories they have been having...not a single one interests me enough to tune in every day... I do but only cause I DVR it and watch it in the evening before I fall asleep!

I never watched Port Charles so I do not understand the character. I know that John McBann was on Port Charles before he was on One Life To Live. I loved his character on One Life To Live and was glad he was one of the characters from One Life To Live that went to General Hospital. Was he a vanpire on Port Charles?

Yeah, read my initial post and there's the story. He played twins..a priest and a vampire. The actress that plays Sam was his counter part...she was in love with Caleb... but only saw him at night as he was the vampire and had to stay in the dark during the day etc and then fell in love with Caleb...before knowing he was a vampire. He was there before OLTL. I dont' know where she was after PC and before GH.

I read before John came on GH that Sam was on PC with John. I knew he was on PC before he came on OLTL.

Yeah the actor that plays John McBain started out on Port Charles..he played twins...a priest and the vampire. The Priest kept his brother, the vampire, hidden in the basement of the church. Kelly Monoco (Sam) was a towns person...she had a candle shop...and she and the vampire Caleb..had a thing going before she found out about his vampire-ship! I don't remember what happened to end that story line... all story lines lasted 9 weeks and then ended. That was pretty cool, they didn't drag us out into oblivion for 6 month! Then he went to OLTL. DOn't know what Kelly did between PC and GH.

Thanks for the background. I never saw Port Charles, but it seems like I read somewhere that Kelly Monaco(Sam) also played another character on Port Charles besides Livvy. I can't remember any more than that though. When John and Sam first met on General Hospital in the church, she said he looked familiar but they haven't carried it any farther than for them to feel a familiarity about each other.

Yeah, they did do that when they first met... I thought is was just a silly little thing they did to add to the intrigue. Port Charles was a 1/2 hour show, while the others were one hour. I dont' remember Kelly playing another character, but it was hit and miss alot for me as I was working full time, plus it was over 10 years ago it aired! Todays was the funniest episode in a long time! Lucy was Lucy! She stabbed John with a chair leg as a stake! It was pricelessly funny! I wonder tho... no one remembers the vampire issue about 10 years or so ago...it was on Port Charles and not General Hospital but both shows were same hospital etc. Oh well...we'll see! And i Have to say...when she was talking to John.. John seemed a little weird..like he knew what she was saying but trying to cover it up...like he might really be Caleb re-habed (can a vampire be rehabed?!) or maybe knows something about it. He wasn't at all angry or anything with her...kind of like he didn't want to react as what she was sayig was the truth...he isn't really John McBain!!!
