The Post Office Lost my Package... I am Not Happy

So I placed and order from Amazon a few weeks back. With Amazon, just about everything comes regular mail, which means it can take forever. So I just so happen to look into my amazon account to track the package. It said it was delievered, but I never got it!! So I called the post office, gave them the tracking number, and they said once it's scanned there isn't anything they can do about it! Oh that's so not going to fly with me! I have been on the phone with the post offer and consumer affairs to get this issue resolved. Just a couple of weeks ago, my boss ordered a kindle from amazon and when she looked to see when it was coming it said that it had been delievered. Again, she didn't get it!!! After speaking with 3 different people they had the nerve to tell me there isn't anything they can do about it!!!!! OH NO NO NO NO!! That is not going to fly with me. I am going to not let this whole thing just go away. They are going to either give me back my money or purchase what I ordered and make sure I get it!! Has this ever happened to you with the post office? How did you handle it?

In my country there are 2 ways of sending packages by mail. One does not have any sort of insurance and it is muy cheaper. I prefer the other way. If I put together the amount of money I lose when a package gets lost plus my time and anger, it´s worth it to spend more money there.

if i sent a package of course i would have put the insurance on it, even more so if it was of high value. but this was something sent to me, so I am at the mercy of the post office

Well Amazon allows people to sell their own products. The person who is selling it has the responsibility to send out what you purchase. The person I made the purchase from, did send it, but the post office lost it

Shouldn´t then Amazon take care of sending the package in such a way that it won´t get lost? After all, if this happens a lot of times, noone will want to buy things online from them again.

i found out the po isn't an easy place to deal with. I mailed a very important DVD to my daughter only 2 cities away and it's been over 2 months and she didn't get it, I have my return address on it and I didn't get it. I filled out more papers with them and still nothing. Where can this package be? I don't get it!

yeah they don't take this kind of thing serious enough for me. I spent $25 and to just assume I am going to suck it up and forget about it is just crazy!

This is another problem though, because the carrier and it's staff are accountable for the lost package. some one's stealing package. yo gotta know the carriers connections of the websites you ordered. there has to be sure of this kind security that shouldn't be that lax since you personally paid for it.

Yup I had the same problem but with meds you know with my ins meds that we take every day must be done by mail so I dod that and hubby's meds got lost in the mail it said un delieverable and si i had to get another script from the doc and order again the meds but it cost $100.00 for 3months worth I screammed that I wasn't paying more money for something I never got they gave me a credit but hubby is a trucker and it is hard enough trying to keep him with the meds supply when he is all over the country but yes the post office is yuck

Wow! now that's some serious stuff. Meds are important and that would have not been a good thing for me! Thank goodness I don't have to take any, but if I did and they got lost, I would not be to happy

I only remember once not receiving a package but it really wasn't the PO fault. It was the company it was sent but they got my money. So since I ordered with a credit card I took it up with my credit card company and after a short investigation they substracted the amount from my credit card. Whenever I mail anything from the Post Office I usually put insurance on it so if it gets lost I get the money worth. I would get in touch with Amazon and see what they can do about it. Let them know you never got the package and to have it resent via another method. I can't believe the Post Office is saying its not their problem. My sister works for the PO I have to ask her what the policy is if she knows.

When you are ordering something through Amazon, you can't put insurance on it and sending it via the PO is the only way it's sent. I know once I contact the seller and they see it says it was delievered they will tell me they did their part and sent it out. It really isn't their issue. But please ask your sister and get back to me. That would be awesome

I contacted the seller and they were so awesome. They told me to contact Amazon to get a refund even though it will reflect bad on them. I told the seller I will give the post office until the end of the month to find my package. If nothing happens, I will then contact amazon. When i get my money back, I will then make another purchase with the same seller. They were so nice.

So far I haven't experienced this. I have never ordered from amazon, usually I make purchases from Ebay and we do have a local courier that is more dependable than the post office. Our post office here in my country is also very corrupt and before the time of computers, people lost their money because the people at the post office or the postman would open the letters and check if there is money inside. I'm not sure if people here in my country still send money thru mail, but with the advent of money transfer services, people have been able to receive money sent to them by family.

That is so frustrating. If I were you, I would contact Amazon. Amazon needs to resolve the situation. I hope everything works out.

I am going to wait until the very last minute to contact them. This really isn't their issue. This is more of a post office issue. They are saying they delievered it and I never got it. It would be an Amazon issue if the person never sent out the package

Hello 34momma, Whom did you call? the office in the Post Office or the CALL CENTER? because if it's the call center, it's highly possible that they cant do anything about it. even if you ask them to call their supervisor, there won't be a supervisor, except their team leader. who was the carrier of the package? I've heard that USPS doesn't always do their job well from what i can recall in my CSR days.such a waste of money and rant on the phone.

You are correct. She should complaint to postmaster and sure they will take appropriate action in this regards. I have done the same thing when the parcel I had send not reached to my cousin sister.

I did have an order with Amazon that didn't arrive as expected and I didn't even bother messing with the carrier of the package, I went straight to Amazon customer service. They did ask that I wait another ten days to see if the package did arrive and to follow up at that point if it hadn't arrived. Well, on the 9th business day, there was a knock at my door and it was actually an Amazon employee (they have a large warehouse in my city) hand delivering my package to me. They did tell me that if I hadn't gotten my package, they would have either sent out a duplicate order or they would have refunded my money to me.

Such things have happen once to me, when I had send the parcel to my cousin sister, it was containing some dress materials. It was suppose to deliver after 5 days. One week pass, one month pass and still she had not received the parcel. So I complaint about it to Post Master. And one fine morning after more then 30 to 40 days the postman rang my door bell and he handed over the parcel saying that they could not trace the address. The parcel was in bad condition. I accepted it and open the same in front of Postman and fell relaxed to see that all items were same as it was I had packed, it was only top part of the parcel was damaged, with mu cousin address was soaked in the water.

That is a sad story. I have purchased one item from USA through the ebay and it reached safely at my place in India. It was a good experience.

Hi friend, sad to hear about your issue. I wonder why the postal department is very careless in this sort? Why don't amazon use a best courier service instead of postal service to avoid such kind of issues? I ordered some items from online sites and don't have any issue with it. All my goods are delivered through courier.

Amazon was very kind and gave me back my money. I am not sure why the post office felt like they had no fault in this situation. I got my product back and i was able to reorder, so I am happy about that

I agree with you; it was due to their negligence that the package was lost. They need to do something about finding out what happened. If it was delivered and got stolen, then it's not their fault. However, if they did not deliver it, then you should be compensated.

I have never had that happen, but if it did, I'd get my lawyer after the post office. So far the worst problem I've had is stuff not getting to my box, and instead having to get it at a postal outlet.

i didn't have a situation like this with the post office, but i did with amazon. i order a four hundred dollar bike for my kid and it never came. it never even got shipped. i filed a claim with amazon and they said the shipper just never told me she cancelled the order. sigh. so, i guess i was never gonna get a bike. i would say to contact amazon and let them no that the post office said there is no tracking number. put yourself on three way with the post office and amazon rep. that way the rep can here for themselves that there was no tracking number. i hope can work out for you and you get your money back. good luck.

Sorry to hear they loss your package and seem to think they have nothing to do about it. That would be very frustrating. I hope that you will be able to get a hold of someone at the post office who is more willing to help. Fortunately I have never had that type of problem. Hope you are able to get your money back.
