has a bad case of gas! I'll be sitting on the couch with him and all of a sudden I get the smell and he looks at me as if to say...yuck what did you do? lol...I don't know why he has this problem all of a sudden. I haven't changed his food or given him anything different from usual. I haven't even given him any treats for a few days. Is this common with cats? Do you have a cat with a bad case of gas?

Oh yeah, been there! Nothing like getting hit with that distinctive whiff. EWWWWWWW! And, of course, you look around and there will be the cat just nonchalantly chillin' out with that innocent, oblivious look.

OR... they get up and walk away like it's YOUR fault!

Well maybe it is your fault. Cats tend to have bad gas depending on the diet, perhaps much like us he just needs to eat something else for a small change. I personally don't have a cat, but it seems that other communities have said that cats with bad gas just need to change their diet once in a while to stop their bad gas problem.

yes, i think it's with the diet. maybe what she was eating has that certain effect on her stomach that's why the gas was that bad.

They have been eating the same food for years but I have a new bag that I haven't opened yet that is a different kind. Maybe that will stop his gas.

Strangely enough I have never encountered the problem of any of my cats letting off gas, or not that I can remember in any case, our first dog, however was a different story, he seemed to love sprouts and liver and both would give him bad gas! He hasn't eaten anything without your knowledge? Sometimes cats can pick up something that has been dropped on the floor, either inside or out.

Oh uh, maybe you need to bring him to his vet. Haven't experienced this with my cat. My only concern about my cat is- she likes to play with cockroach - ewk and her smells stinks (I can tell when she yawns)

I can't afford a vet trip this month due to my new financial problems but I'm going to keep a good eye on him and maybe change his food.

I would check with your cat's vet. No, none of my cats ever had gas. Perhaps, he ate something outside that he should not have eaten. Or perhaps he is not digesting his food properly. Is he getting enough water to drink? Here is an article about cats and gas that might help you: http://www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/digestive/c_ct_flatulence

My cats don't go outside so he couldn't have gotten into anything he shouldn't. I keep the water bowl full so he can drink whenever he's thirsty. I'll have to watch to see if he drinks often enough.
