Where Does the Bible Say You Go to Heaven When You Die?

I don't think it does. Rather I think worldly men--seeking peace with themselves--speculate that myth from peripheral references in the text. But I don't think that's how it works---Oh, it might seem like you go 'straight to Heaven' (as you're not conscious of all the time that happens between 'the moment you die' & 'the moment the spirit is plugged back into your body'); but Genesis 2:7 describes the body & soul & spirit this way: "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils 'the breath of life' (spirit); and man became a living soul. Every one of us--from Adam to Jesus to the Antichrist--is a descendant of that very process. Sure, Jesus went straight to 'Heaven'; but that was His new body formed AFTER He died! If we are His disciples--reportedly the only way to find Heaven--then we much each die, be resurrected & THEN go to Heaven. (They say Enoch in the Old Testament ALSO went straight to Heaven, but that could be that he walked away and died without telling anyone where---were there any witnesses?) But does the Bible tell you something different? What? Where? Why?

Nowhere in the bible does supports the Catholic and other sects belief that once you die, you go to hell or heaven. It says that "the soul goes to the grave" and "will be risen to salvation or damnation" on the "second coming of Christ."

I can imagine bringing those up to my Bible-study 'comrades' and their reply being something like 'Oh, that's the Old Testament!' And then they tithe & honor the Sabbath and all sorts of Old Testament rules.

No man hath seen the Father. The thief on the cross went with him to the place called Paradise. This is where the departed souls of the Old Testament were before his resurecction was held. He lead captivity captive. The Bible says that those who slept rose and were seen in the city, this was after his resurrection at which time they were the Fisrtfruit offerings to God as he rose on the Saturday evening before the Feast of Firstfruits. He could not be touched by Mary until after he had done this. It is appointed for us once to die and then the judgement. We dont go to heaven when we die, I still tend to think of it like a sleep until we all stand in judgement.

I haven't rehd the 'those who slept rose and were seen'-part, but I know "those who DO sleep WILL be raised." And to the theif on the cross ... the commas were ADDED by the translators. A better translation of "I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise" is 'I tell you today, you will be with me in Paradise.

... especially on account of the fact that it wasn't for another MONTH OR TWO that Jesus went to Heaven. (Are Heaven & Paradise the same place?)

(Of course, I'm being a little 'false' there, inferring that "Heaven" is a place (when I KNOW that it is not!))
