Oh, look! It's the angry recipe woman! Sorry, I couldn't resist. I hope you have a sense of humor. I don't use aroma therapy much but I found two sites that might help you out www.essentials-of-aromatherapy.com/stress_relief.html and www.holisticonline.com/stress/stress_aromatherapy.htm Maybe these sites can help you get rid of whatever stress you're dealing with. I'm mylot's natural health nut, but I don't know a lot about aroma therapy. And welcome to mylot! Have a good time, look around make friends and don't choose a best response too soon. People will respond for up to a week, sometimes sooner. If you need advice just ask. You'll get lots of answers. :-)

Tea ceremony sounds nice. Maybe it helps if you sit in nice quiet room, away from distractions and enjoy the present moments with aromatic teas in nice, cute cups. Before I sip my tea, I inhale the aromas from the tea. I also find out that I like to be in a room that doesn't have much stuffs in it, maybe some nice pictures on the wall, table, some chairs and that's all. It's nice to shut down everything and just enjoy the present moment but it's hard to do. Maybe it's help if you make a list of things to do and save it for later, then you can shut down and relax.

I don't intentionally undergo an aroma therapy for stress. But I do believe that it really helps relieve stress for anyone. I've actually experienced it. I usually use organic perfumes which are made from aromatic herbs and flowers. And whenever I go out with the perfume applied, stress doesn't occur in the first place, and if it does I go through it quite swiftly. So I'd say I'm a believer of aroma therapy.

Hi TheKingMan,
I love organic products. Which brand do you use? Do you spray the perfume to the room? Some people are allergic to scents. I love gentle scents like lavender, sandalwood and musk. I love it when the whole room look so clean and smells so pretty and I just love it when the room is full of candles.

I love candles and incense and gonesh. I can't live without them. For candles I use lavender scented candles and for incense and gonesh I love to use sandalwood. Looking at the smokes calm me. At my house, I have an altar with statues of Buddha and bodhisattva. After lighting candles and incense, I sit and say my repentance liturgy (saying in my mind that I'm sorry for hurting people's feelings because of my speech, thoughts, and actions and promise not to do it again.) Sometime after lighting candles and incense, I just sit and read words of wisdoms. However, if on that day I am emotionally hurt it's hard to erase all the tress quickly from my mind when I'm at an altar. In that case, it takes time to think things through and forgive. Sometime, the solution is I have to bend my thinking a little by thinking what goods for other people, thinking maybe people have habits or stress that that they can't overcome so hurt words come out, thinking maybe I can need a new way to do things that won't cause trouble. And eventually i will have my answers. After cleaning up the house, I also light incense and candles in my room. That way when I walk into a room, I'm relaxed and can think of good thoughts. It has become a habit now because on the day when I'm not at the altar, I miss it a lot. I think people should try my incense and candle offering method before they go to work.
