Who would fund the NRA's suggestions? US taxpayers of course!!

The NRA has provided suggestions on how to protect our school children. The most commonly noted suggestion is to have armed guards in every school. This is a common reaction to incidents like this, and in some cases it makes sense. This is what happened after Columbine, with mixed results. However, once you see these school killings go down, people forget all about them, and when you add this to the budget problems that many schools are facing, you see schools getting rid of armed guards as a cost cutting measure. Even if you are using existing employees, you still will have to train them, insure them, and manage their time differently. This all cost money, and for many school districts, they can't afford this. Now the NRA would rather have the US tax payers fund the solution to problems created by the gun industry, and their relentless lobbying, and scare tactics. Of course the number one beneficiary of these suggestions would be the gun industry, who is the main source of income to the NRA. Why hasn't ANYONE asked the NRA why US taxpayers should fund the clean up of a mess caused by them, and the manufacturers who make the guns? Should we just add a tax on to guns, and ammunition purchases to pay for protecting our children from the dangers that these cause?

Yes, it could. You are right. Likewise, it could save your life or someone you love. The thing is that if you ban manufacturing, they will still be manfactred still by people undergeound. And who do you think is going to be armed with them while law abiding citizens can.t efen own them..

Sid, you are making a great case for banning the manufacturing of assault weapons. That assault rifle has just as much of a chance of taking my life, or someone I love.

perhaps the solution is for everyone to homeschool their kids-it would be cheaper-virtual classrooms using the same teaching resources
or small satellite schools, with virtual classrooms set up
it would be cheaper......
after all, isn't this what everything is about?
