That's what my little granddaughter said yesterday afternoon when I picked her up from school and took her to my son's. She just spent the last week with her mom....I picked her up and when we got back to their place she was just so happy to be there...She immediately went into her room and stayed there most of the afternoon until I had supper ready. I thought it was so grown up for a seven year old. She also asked me how long it had been since she had seen me...and I told her just about two weeks. She said, "grandma that's too long!" Sure made me feel good! Have you little ones said something grown up lately?

That is very sweet. Your question makes me think of my dad relaying a story one of his friends told him. His friend's grandson had a sleepover and when he went into the kitchen in the middle of the night he found one little boy at the kitchen table, reading. He asked why he was still awake and the little boy replied, "I'm nocturnal."

As you know, my grand twins are giving problems but each night after we have prayed for their Mummy etc they usually ask how much do I love them. I cuddle them and tell them that I love them more than all the stars in the sky, more than all the fishes in the sea and ore than all the birds in the air. somehow saying this nightly comforts them. They then said that they were going to enter me in then parent's race at the upcomning sports day but their teacher said that I was too old!!

Yes, my 6 year old has been using the word "apparently" a lot and that makes me laugh. "Apparently we are out of cereal" and I say "Oh, apparently?". Too cute from such a young mouth.

That was a sweet thing for her to say. She sounds like she possesses a maturity beyond her years.
We don't have little ones here--at least, not of the human variety.

That shows she's not happy away from home and those words are very sweet to hear from a little girl.
I always longed to visit my hometown and stay in our old house where I use to live during my younger days.
There's no place as sweet like home...

Hiya Jill,
Not got any little ones around me as such but that is something really nice to hear for sure.
Must make you feel really good too. Very nice relationship there others like must wish that they had had that kind of warm feeling in the Family when they were small. I only ever felt like that about my Godmother and my Auntie they only ever cared about me and stood up for me too and that is something that cannot be taken away that nice warm feeling.xxx
Children can be so funny and loving too.
One group of children saw the dog misbehaving and they said to me with all their belief "we can train him for you" and you know I had to smile to myself I really did.xxx

Hiya Jill,
They are a real joy they are not yet into life itself and have a pure joy that is hard for us to keep going like they do.
Last year two little boys here when the Carnival was on came up to the door all dressed up as Batman. Each one of them wanted to be better than the other so they were doing a demonstration of how powerful their Batman muscles were lol.
I had to laugh but nicely you know so as not to hurt their feelings.
They are only about 8 or 9 years old.
I love watching the adverts about children especially the very young ones they are so funny some of them.
They should be on the news reading it what a great time we would have with their point of views.
I was creased with laughing the other day watching Daniel the so called terrible little boy and Walther Matthau and Joan Plowright not sure of the exact title of the Film really hilarious.xxx

Anymore most 7 yr olds are pretty bright. It is amazing to see how many now even try to carry on adult conversations and end up asking a lot of questions as well. Many times they can share a lot of things and express their real thoughts and feelings that in other ways no one else will.

How sweet. Doesn't that make your tummy jump up and down? lol Raising our own kids wasn't nearly as much fun. I enjoyed our girls but being a grandparent is one of the most wonderful experiences. I spent lots of time the first part of this week with our youngest two grandkids. One can't talk yet, 9 months, and the other one is 4 so she says all kinds of cute things that make me feel special. She was telling me the other day about her boyfriend at pre-school. I can't seem to get enough of the little ones. Our other grandkids live in another state so I don't get to see them very often. They are 5 & 7. The 7 yr. old says some very interesting grown up things all the time.

On the one hand, that is really cute of her, and it's nice that she loves her Daddy and his house so much. On the other hand, how is she at her Mom's house? I love my father, but when I was a kid, I was always happier at my mother's house, because Mom and I had a better relationship.

How cute is that! I bet she was glad to be home because as we all know, haha, "there's no place like home"....
It was very grown up for her to say that..and unusual for only seven. And that was soooo sweet of her to tell you it was too long that she didn't see you.

My little grandson is not even two yet, but I understand him when he wants something. I can always here him say "please" after a few words. And when he can have what he asked for I can hear him say clearly "thank you"! Because his parents bring him here often I can understand more of what he says than a stranger can. Grandchildren can bring much joy.
