Got it off my chest

I wrote last summer about the aftermath of the sale of my house, and the hell that the buyers and their realtor put me through. I've been thinking for quite a long time about writing a negative review of her online, and today I did it. Here it is:
http://www.movoto.com/realestateagent/renee-friedrich
Lesson learned, I should have tried to negotiate that addendum. It might have save me some stress and annoyance. Money too.
Have you ever written a negative review after you had a bad experience?

Yes, I've written negative reviews before. However, I do have some more that I owe to a few more businesses.
I'm glad that you finally wrote your review. Others should be warned regarding that realtor.

The one that I most need to write is for a cottage we'd stayed at last summer. "Cottage" is a very generous description of the place.
There are also a couple of other hotels that I need to write reviews on.

Well, I personally, have never been able to express a positive or negative experience like yours. First, the fact that I never had to sell or buy a house (by this they are always busy my dear parents).
However, I happen to write reviews positive or negative on an Italian website.
There we talk about everything, so I have written several times my direct experience of objects used by me.

Well, well, well. Do you feel better? I hope you do. I would definitely right a negative review if warranted. In fact, if I felt that things went really wrong, I would go out of my way to post a review for others to see. Business people should not get away with shady practices. And hopefully, she'll read your review and bone up on her business practices.

Thumbs up on the negative review of the real estate agent Renee Friedich you wrote! Maybe it will open other people's eyes on what kind of person she realy is which is not nice! I myself have never had to deal with anything like that. I just am still trying to work out this money problem with small claim court!

I haven't because I'm not sure if it works.
I know a friend of mine who's got a website that sells things online. He told me that he'd sometimes write good reviews about himself/site. He'd just put it in some alias. So if somebody could make a bad review, anybody could as easily make a good one.
I hope in your case Ms. Friedrich would at least strive to be better because she knows that what you wrote in here is true.

Somebody posted a negative review about my local pizza parlor, and I still go there. Not sure if I would have tried it if I had read the review before I tried the pizza though.

Nicely thought out, worded and expressed, I think you got your point across! I hope that made you feel better doing that, sometimes we need to express our feelings about a bad deal we received, otherwise it can simmer away beneath the skin and the 'anger' will still be there for years to come, by 'getting it off your chest' you have got a closure on the whole debacle. I have had raw deals on some online sites, and yet all you see are these glittering testimonials, but they don't put up your testimonial about the site if it's negative, that's why I don't read them, they are too damn biased.

Not in some time, but have written some in the past.
You wrote a review of your experience with a BUYER agent-where was your real estate agent? That is who should have been there to protect you. Her obligation was to the other party, not you.
I can understand if you have a concern about how things were presented to you, but was she representing you also? Unless she was, you really don't have anyone but your agent or yourselves (if this was a for sale by owner deal). I'm sorry.

I hope that wrote an equally scathing review of your agent too then-it sounds like they both failed you. The other agent wasn't supposed to communicate with you-their job is to present issues to YOUR agent.
Again, I'm sorry that you went through those things, but whenever I entered a real estate transaction (in NJ), any communications from the buyer had to go through their agent to mine. And I just went through real estate school here in PA-same rules apply.
The only time that their agent would be allowed to talk to you is if they signed a contract with you; if you really wanted to be difficult about it, you could try to find a lawyer and file a lawsuit, if it bothers you that much.

Yes, my agent should have gone through those addendums and told us our rights with them, and I told her so. But that doesn't excuse that other agent's behaviour afterward.

Far as I am concerned, the badly written agreements indicate incompetence, and the long delays and the outrageous demands, especially the part where she made a final offer and then attempted to change it, indicate outrageous and unethical behavior. I see nothing wrong with voicing my opinion of that publicly even if I didn't have a contract with her.
As for finding a lawyer, we had an arbitration agreement, so I can't sue her or her clients. And the amount we ended up settling for wasn't worth going to small claims court.

Oh yes. I really couldn't see anything in your link but I have reported things..not as big as yours but as a consumer...yes , i do report. I did write a negative review on a stupid dunkin donuts that sells re-fill cups but does not honor the refill prices. If a business treats me bad, i don't think twice about warning others.

Not officially. I think a couple times I might have written to the BBB about a mechanic place or car dealer.. probably should have done so with Aspen Dental too.. but no actual reviews.

Oh no, I get ticked plenty.. I just brood about it instead of taking any real action. Doesn't seem to get much accomplished anyway.

I have had to over the years. It's hard and something you really don't to do. But sometimes it is best. Others need to know what they are going to be up against. I hope you feel better for having done it.

I can't even begin to remember the last time I have given a bad review but I know I have done it. I've reported twice to the Better Business Bureau over proper company procedure and ethical conduct. Most of my reviews I do though are for the good. I like letting people know where they CAN go for excellent service.

and I love the sentence where you mentioned her going back to school for sentence structure and punctuation LOL!!! That right there was so awesome it gave me a good laugh but you know, surprisingly, it does matter. How can you possibly trust someone whose English skills are not professional when it's important? To me it's important when I have to do any legal or business transactions. It shows professionalism and that they know what they are doing.

I see the typo in there. I can tell what she means but it does leave me hanging a bit because it's lacking on a couple of sentences.

I have seriously thought about writing some of my thoughts and feelings about my dealings with Doctors like the Endocronologist if I decide to never see her again and the Doctor who told me he did not want to treat me and my wound anymore as with the infection he was at a loss what to do next. I do seriously think it is time for me to get the complaint number, and information and make a couple of complaints myself.
Hoping in the end that your letter helps some of the people see and understand some of the hardships you had to face on your end as well.

Yes, I have wrote a bad review on someone or a business. I always try and get it handled or fixed before going public. But if I can't. Than I go public and make amends to the review if needed. I think the public has the right to know when someone does bad business. So they don't get stuck to.

Glad you were able to get it resolved. Sorry it wasn't to your satisfaction. She sounded like she was out for the buyer. She probably got a bigger commission from them.

Well let's just say they got money to clean the carpet in the whole house, and far as I was concerned only the family room was an issue. But I got everything else I wanted, so oh well.

Wow! Now tell us how you really feel about her.
(You didn't tell us anything about wanting to be a kidney donor for Tony, or did I miss it? I hope your bp is down and that he got another kidney.)

For the most part, she did a very good job. But in this case, she should have gone over those agreements with us, and pointed out what was in them like she did in every other case.
My issue isn't so much with the agreements though, as that other realtor's conduct afterward.

You go, girl! Glad you finally wrote it - and hopefully that will help others. Stick it to her - and it's all the truth! (I wonder if she'll comment back!).
My daughter's first grade teacher just went through a lot of crapola with her agent. The agent was a total chauvinist - he assumed she didn't know anything and treated her as if she were an idiot . . . oh ho, good thing she did some homework and she ultimately got rid of his azz . . . and now she is thinking to write some sort of review on him too!
I've made many a written complaints directly to a person or their management or a company, but I've never done an actual review online (perhaps I should).
