My facebook account has been accessed by someone and posted profanity of it.

This morning at around 5:30, I used one of the computers at the internet area meant for everyone to use while on break or after work. After a few minutes, I immediately logged out and went back to work. I ended the day for work at 8AM (as I am working night shift). I went back to the internet area to check my facebook again. I was surprised because there were status posts that I do not recognize. I didn't create them and my friends commented on it so negatively. I felt that my privacy was breached and that my reputation has been blemished with such a profane post. Everyone could have viewed it. I am planning to call the attention of the security office to check on the CCTV records as I was able to view the browsing history of the person who abused my account. Even the exact time he made the post can be found out of it. I am serious about this and I need justice for the embarrassment I experienced.

Hello Danzylop, I am sorry that this has happened to you my friend. but the lesson is never use the internet in a public area, most specially if you have forgotten to log out. I have seen that in some Internet shops were people forget to log out from facebook. first, log it out and double check it. then clear the "history" so that no one will check if you have log into to facebook there or not. good luck for your investigation and i hope that employee learns his lesson if his caught. I experience seeing people who forget to logout from their FB accounts, but i don't abuse it instead i log it out before i access mine.

Did you ever think of something like that when you find out that someone else's Fb account was still logged on when you are about to use the PC? Well, for me, especially that she is inside the company premises she should behave accordingly. I can analogue this to a street bystander that when he finds a time to cause damage to anyone, he will really do it. It is like that. Everyone has a moral sense. Am i right?

That might help...... Have you posted on your wall to clarify that the precious posts were not made by you? You should now change your password for that account just to be sure that who ever did access it will no longer be able to do such a thing again.

my password is quite long and complicated so I dont think my password has been compromised as I was able to track down what he did to my account. he just merely used my password that was already filled into the space because the browser was set to save my password. I saw that he just merely logged it in and then made such a kind action and logged out shortly.

That is what my supervisor told me. But I think I am assured that he will help me out in getting the person to a sanction or disciplinary action.

So one lesson learned: Better access your FB account using your own computer instead of using a common computer coz these things might happen again.

This is becoming a common occurence with Facebook it seems, when I went to log into Facebook, I found someone else's facebook account on MY computer, and I don't share my computer with anyone, I don't even have wireless turned on. I logged them out, I could have easily posted stuff on their page! I really don't know how that happened. Was your browser Firefox by chance? Just interested, because I am wondering if Firefox is the problem too. I now change my passwords very very regular, you just cannot be too careful it seems.

That is so harsh. Maybe that person is secretly angry with you and so, that person used your facebook account to get a revenge. That is not so good.

People do this all the time, and they find it funny. It's sort of like hey you didn't log out and this is what could happen. But if they repeatedly post things that is just pushing it for me. I never use public computers for this reason, because of my privacy. I hope you get it worked out.

I agree with you. You need justice to punish who deliberately backbite other reputation in public. I really hate other people who are not considering the feeling of others by doing a not meaningful behavior like what you mentioned here.

hi Danzylop! =) i am so sorry to hear about this, i thought your facebook account was hacked. I guess this is what may happen when we are not careful enough to log out our accounts whenever we use them. Honestly there are just people who are such and don't have shame and would use other people's account just for the "fun" of it whenever they have the opportunity as such. Maybe though we know there aren't much case if you bring this to your HR (internet area) to file for a complaint, at least see if it is possible and something can be done since this happened within your company premises.

You really should have the habit of making sure that you are totally logged out after accessing your accounts may it be facebook or mail, etc. It would have been worse if you forgot to sign out your mail account. Your friends in facebook would know if it was you or not who posted that profanity. And you could always post in your wall about what really happened. They would really understand and just forget all those things that were posted by someone who wanted to make a laugh of you. Next time, be very careful.

Yes, you should get the security to check through so that you can clear your name and reputation. What the person did is wrong, and I hope he will learn and repent. You take care. Now be doubly sure in future you log off, or get your own tablet to surf. It's sad we cannot trust our own colleagues.

My thought is that you ticked the KEEP ME LOGGED IN option upon sign in. Actually, this is a common mistake on many Facebook users. Unfortunately for you, there's an unscrupulous person lurking at your office and may have chanced upon an opportunity to do something nasty.

Nothing you can really do other than contact Facebook and have your password changed. Sorry this happened to you, I know a friend who had theirs hacked; they just deleted their Facebook page and created a new one. Maybe someone got on your computer while you were logged on?
