is the number 13 really jinxed?

I have never thought of the number 13 as really being an unlucky number. In fact, for me, it is quite the opposite. The number 13 is my lucky number. You see, my son was born on the 13th of October (and it was actually a Friday the 13th as well when he was born). My daughter was going to be induced on the 13th of December (which was ironically also a Friday the 13th), however, she had plans of her own and was instead born on the 4th of December. If other people would like to skip this year or rename it, that is okay for them, but I won't be joining them.

I do not think it is really something that should worry you. i mean nowadays people do not or no longer think of lucky and what is unlucky. i mean i think everything will eventually come to you when you want it, you can always work for it. and whatever happens in day to day is not with the numbers or the date attached to it.

A lot of people think that the number thirteen is not lucky at all or its a bad number. But when I was a kid, my father told me that 13 is a lucky number. He mentioned that Jesus has twelve disciples and Jesus is the 13th person in their group. Since then, I always think 13 as a regular number and I do not regard it as unlucky.

Where does this badluck number 13 comes from and how it started? I was Born Feb.13 and my granny and mother always tells me what a bad combination..geesss. From then on, it sinked to me that 13 is a badluck, specially when my b-day is coming I always get sick and it never failed. But of course as I grow up I learned the logic about badluck and goodluck.

I was born on 13th of Dec, but I didn't had bad luck always as luck is a part of life. Well until now the year 2013 is going normal as nothing special happened and who knows whats in store for you as its just the beginning of the year. Have a nice day.

I'd say that 13 is an unlucky number. hat is when a child becomes a teenager.

I was not giving any thought to it. At the end of January, I wanted to just ignore it. But at home, my sister and mother keep bringing it up. Every time something bad happens they blame it on that 13 of 2013. My sister is more concerned about it than her though. It really gets irritating. For me, all years are same. I cannot see one year as worse than the other unless there is a war going on somewhere. Well, as far as I know 13 is used in esoteric stuff. Perhaps, that is why, it has been made to look like an evil number.

I don't think so my son was born on the 13th, and I am lucky to have him.

I was born on the 13th and so I like the number 13. And so, I am delighted that this is 2013. So, I hope this can indeed be a delightful and enjoyable year. I want to make the best out of this year - 2013!
