Hey guys! Just want to share this conversation from a friend of mine. After our class, my friends and I decided to have a little drink and do some few catch-up since we were not meeting each other after the holidays. One of my friends asked me about my new job right now and told him that I'm a call center agent working on doing outsourcing services. I didn't expect that he would address me on a very sullen approach. He told me that being a call center agent is not a career and should not be the last thing that I'll do in my life. I do understand his concerns but I want to address him that my work is a noble one. I know it's not the same with other lucrative jobs in world but being a a call center agent is profound one. I'm proud that I was able to land a job like this and I learned that it's not easy. People's insights on this work are all a misconception. I wanted to say that if you think that way of my niche and you say it's easy, I bet you should try. I want people to know that with the life and/or generation we have now, being mature and clever in terms of doing our work should be the thing. The problem why other people don't success is that they are too ambitious; wanting to be place in a higher rank when they haven't experience how to become one. For them, life is always a fast lane. Well, I don't think that way. Yes, I do have goals and ambitions in life but I'm taking it step by step. :)

Yes you are right, people should have ambition but have to take it step by step, but in general thinking, boys should not take the call center job as his career,so I think your friend's opinion is base on this concept.

These are the words you must tell your friend One cannot question our job. Whatever field we choose and career we settled in. It is our choice and it is our life. Whatever job we have, be it a janitor, a call center agent or a manager... we must be proud of it and no one has the right to tell us that it is not a career. I do guess that you and your friend is still young. Both of you still have a lot of time in the world to prepare yourself for a more challenging and rewarding work.

good day to you akosibinot,
the conversation you have had from your friend is pretty annoying. though he is your friend, he should have used some subtle words. however, what to do, some people are born with a tactless tongue so the result is unrefined words like what he utter. despite of, you did a noble act. that you able to catch up properly on what to do. and you able to do your sound reasoning without the other got annoyed. anyway, your reasoning sound superb. and it is really ideal to take life slowly but surely. same thing as you go climbing up step by step in the ladder of life's success.
cheers.

I know exactly what you mean. I used to work in a call center myself. But I wasn't able to stay long coz my husband discouraged me. He said that I was tiring myself for just a few bucks. I started to enjoy my job coz it was also the first job I had after being tied for 10 years at my brother in law's pharmacy. The environment was all new to me and I liked it right away. I don't want to brag, but among my tranch mates, I would often excel with all the exams given to us. And when we started working on the floor, while they were all in panic, I was calmly accepting all calls......I missed those day....

I really hate it when people look down on other people's jobs. I mean, we all have to start somewhere. better to have a job than none at all. Besides, it's not like we are going to be working in the same place forever! What's up with that? They shouldn't judge a job they have not even tried. All jobs are noble, they all serve their individual functions in society, no matter how small. I hate those ambitious people who look down on other people.
I have not experienced working in a call canter and I believe that it isn't as easy as some people might think. It's actually very challenging and very stressful for some.
No matter how stable or unstable or high paying or low paying a job is, all jobs have a purpose and have a function. Imagine a world without vendors... where would you buy stuff if they are not there to sell things to you? Imagine a world without garbage collector, imagine how many trash would be lying around!!!
