As love for oneself gain prominence all of us begin to recognize and honor our body and rearrange life patterns. Close regard and concern for the dear ones start losing when one engage in self-love beyond limits. Most relationships take a backward shift as one gets to just love oneself only. It reaches a level of selfishness of greater proportions. But it is quite awry when one begins to disregard elders and close relatives while embarking on a course of self-love.

I think that even if a person would choose to love himself more than others maybe because of failed relationships in the past, one should not forget that other people still matters. And those people who has unconditional love for you are your family and friends.

There is a difference between self-love and love of the Self. The first is worldly in nature and brings about vanity, selfishness and narcissism.Man places his concerns above everything and disregards every other thing including family, friends, relatives etc.Instead of expanding he becomes narrow minded in thought, word and deed.People start avoiding such a person who thinks only about himself all the while. On the other hand when man goes deep within himself and becomes one with the higher Self or Super Soul he expands to such a degree that the entire world and Universe gets encompassed in him. He see himself in others and others in himself. He has no concern about himself but he is concerned only about the welfare of others.. From human he becomes Superhuman, He reaches the pinnacle of human life, he becomes God-like.
