Questions of Faith?

January 19, 2013 7:26am CST
It's nice to see inwardly our faith. Here are some questions that I pause first and foremost to myself with regards of my faith. How is my faith? Is my faith increasing? Is it loosing? What do you believe? Does my faith affects my way of thinking? Does my faith affects my way of living? Whom I am believing ? Why do you believe in God? Do you believe in Jesus?

I would like to answer your questions by using myself as the subject. How is my faith? I believe I have a healthy fsith that is getting stronger each day. I continually pray for my faith to increase so that I will not waver in my belief. I believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; that God loves us so much He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life; that Jesus is the only way to the Father, He is the truth and the life; that if you confess your sins, repent and receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you will be saved. My faith definitely affects my way of thinking. I am becoming more and more inclined to the "things" of God rather than the "things" of the world. Genuine Christianity has become my lifestyle by God's grace, guidance and by the power of the Holy Spirit. I believe in God. Yes, I believe in Jesus.

Your questions confuse. To be sure that they do not deceive, I looked-up the definition of "faith." http://search.mylot.com/search.aspx?t=web&k=faith+definition I found that 'faith' is allegiance to duty or a person (loyalty), fidelity to one's promises, sincerity of intentions, belief and trust in and loyalty to God, belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion, firm belief in something for which there is no proof, complete trust or something that is believed especially with strong conviction. If something is true, it is absolutely true---not sorta true or true if that's the way you see it. 'How much you agree that something is true' may be the issue at hand here. Maybe I have too much faith to see it as 'something that can increase or decrease.' (And I see the paradox there: 'How can I have "too much" of something if it can't increase-or-decrease?' ) That's the first three questions. The fourth answer is 'I believe that I am a son of G*d with all the rights afforded thereto.' (You can ask me about that, if you like.) Fifth, your faith IS your way of thinking. Sixth, of course! Basically, you know exactly what is going to happen in immediate effect of everything you do. That's faith. Seventh, St. Peter (to whom Jesus said 'you are the rock on which I build my church.') Or some other leader who followed some other leader who followed some other leader etc. It doesn't matter what you believe, except that what you believe is the foundation of your thoughts which are the main ingredient in your ideas which inspire your- & others' actions which plant thoughts in the ground of other people's beliefs. Jesus is one such thought.

Hi floie, though sometimesd we may come to a point where we would question part of what is in us, and though we would be confused with what the truth is, I think when you have decided to be grounded and not be swayed by whatever it is you are shown, then I know - we know that you are safe to be of the same faith. Keeping faith needs work, when you do not keep your faith intact by not reading bible verses, and not rejuvenating yourself in the company of people with the same faith, i think that meant you are not nourishing what your faith can be.

Very interesting questions! Here is a question I often ask myself: Is my faith based on truth and realities or is it build on lies, false teachings and misconceptions? This Scripture comes to my mind: Matthew 7:21-27. So, is my faith as solid as a rock (Jesus Christ)?

Faith for me differs in the point of view of every person. There are lots of religions and they are all speaking with different kinds of faith. How about the faith that we have for our self? It is something that we must all have to remain strong despite of all the tribulations in life.

For me, faith is believing or holding on to something or somebody even without seeing a tangible evidence of its or their existence. I can say that my faith is strong if despite all the troubles and challenges I'm facing, I still trust in God, NO MATTER WHAT. Well, not easy though. How can you have faith in something/somebody if nothing is happening amidst your prayers, hardworks, etc.? Well, that's faith for you. God works in mysterious ways as a saying goes. And He also stated in the Bible that He blesses those who believe even if they don't see Him. God honors faith. Even if at first it's not obvious. God bless my friend!

Hello Floiecometa! You need not post your other questions here in myLot,because they are personal questions you are the only one who knows how strong is your faith with your religion and God.Yes!I believe in Jesus,as you also believe in Him that He is the Son of God.My only belief is that there is Only One God,and He has No Name, yet very sacred.I am a Roman Catholic, and I do not believe images. How strong is your faith with your religion?I think you are not a strong believer of your faith, because you have precautionary questions about your sincerity in your religion. You questioned your faith as not very solid to your beliefs in your God that you have to tendency to change religion. Is that what you ask for?You have your choice,as what you have been thinking right now.You are not solid to your faith whatever it might be.You questioned the Divinity of Jesus. How solid is your faith? Are you a Roman Catholic?I doubted your faith might be change according to your queries.
