Rahul Gandhi has been declared as the Vice-President of the Indian National Congress party. I am not sure whether he has been selected or elected for the said post but I am sure that he is going to hold a high rank in the ministry if Congress party succeeds to come to power in the next Parliamentary election in the next year. As far as I think he would not be projected as the next Prime Minister of India, but he would definitely be next to the Prime Minister officially and ahead of the Prime Minister unofficially in making any government decisions, just like his mother and the official Prime Minister would consequently be a puppet one as we find now. It is a pity that in spite of being the biggest democratic country of the world, we cannot free ourselves from the Gandhi-Nehru dynasty. I am not sure how long this dynasty will rule over India.

Its not only in centre but Its continuing in many other parts of country too where heredity is continuing in politics. Its like family affair in many states,if a man holds a big position in politics then its definite he will also introduce his family members in politics and its interesting to note that people like such thing and they elect them too.Its people's faith in them and their mentality and they don't want to change this mentality. They are continuing because people don't like others and they don't give them a chance too. SO its continuing and will be continued....

Hello DoctorDidi, For past so many months Congress Party is trying to give its leadership to Rahul. When Sonia returned from US after treatment there was an attempt. Rahul lead Uttar Pradesh state regain campaign and state election campaign . But no effect was produced and got bitter election result too. In the matter of Hazere Movement once he made an attacking speech against Hazare's motivations in the Parliament. It was the last speech of him against Hazare in the Parliament. I think Priyanka has more capabilities than Rahul to succeed their family regime.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well it was surprising to hear that Rahul will take a bigger role next year for the elections as he had always been denying to vie for the Prime Ministerial post and i think it would be interesting to see him locking horns with other candidates for the coveted post. I hope at the end of the day we would get a good leader and visionary. What say?

Everyone know Rahul Gandhi is Indian National Congress Party's next PM candidature in nearby time or future. So it isn't a surprising news, but a delayed news. In my opinion Rahul Gandhi has to improve a lot to attract mass giving actions against "corruption" which has much consideration among mass.

Hi nishant Finally the day has come . This is a clear sign of 2014 elections and prime ministers candidate . I think it may not bring any change in 2014 elections for congress as we can see the prices of daily life goods has raised , i think it may effect congress in 2014 elections .I hope Rahul will make an impact .

Yes,now the Congress party's only hope to win the election due in 2014 lies with the Junior Gandhi. In my opinion, there must have been much more talented youngmen congressmen, but none of them can even dream of getting to this post if he or she does not belong to the Gandhi family. The corruption ridden party is now trying Rahul Gandhi to win the election, but going by his track record I don't hope he would be able to make a mark.
