Writing for Textbroker

I enjoy my web-based freelance writing career. One of the many places I write for is Textbroker. They are an SEO content site. After opening your account, submitting a writing sample and a tax form, writers are rated according to a star system. The more stars, the more writing jobs are available to choose from. You can also join writing teams by application or invitation. I am a member of two writing teams and am currently at 4 stars, so I have a pretty broad field of assignments available to me. After your fifth piece is submitted, you have to wait until their editors evaluate your first five pieces. You can go ahead and get paid, but you will not be able to accept or submit new work until the evaluation is completed. And your stars ranking can go up or down at any time, according to the quality of your submissions. I love the diverse topics at Textbroker. In one day, I can write about arts and crafts, automotive, costumes, hotel insurance, plastic surgery, business, travel, wedding planning, health and beauty, thanks to their assorted clientele. Paymenst are according to word count and can be higher per word when you pick articles from your team pages. If you have room in your portfolio, I highly recommend writing for Textbroker. They are open to different countries, too, and still expanding.

The people I know who've written for them have said the company seems to be on a downturn at the moment, without much work on offer (especially compared to before). Have you found that?

Hiya Spike, and thanks for responding. Tell your friends who find it slow to check back in a week or two. Many industries experience a January cold spell, then corporate spending warms up right along with consumer spending on things such as gardening, Mardi Gras and Valentine's Day around the same times.

Over the past year, I've found Textbroker to be growing by leaps and bounds. I believe that, due to their review system, and soome clients' standards, their writing population is actually putting out quite a good quality of work, for the most part. It's up to each individual writer to put their best foot forward with each piece submitted, as opposed to playing the proverbial monkey. :-)

May I ask what kind of rates they offer? Everyone I ask gives me really vague answers so it's hard to find out. Just for reference.

Hi belinday! If this is a good site, then it is worth trying too. As of now, I have several writing sites where I am presently submitting articles. Hopefully, if given enough time, I could also try this one. Thank you for sharing this information.

Hi, ARIES, and thanks for chiming in. It's great that you are involved with so many sites. That will certainly keep you working. Maybe Textbroker could be something to keep in your back pocket for a time of need.

I write for Textbroker, too! Sometimes I enjoy it and sometimes, not. It depends on whether I want flexibility or not. When you write for Textbroker or similar sites, you have to write what they want, using their keywords, the number of words, etc. Sometimes I'm okay with that and sometimes I'm not! They're a good company to work for, though

I am curious why do you have to submit a tax form? Is all your earnings subject to tax? I know we don't have to submit any tax form here at Mylot and we are earning for our contributions. Or does it depend on what country you reside in as to whether you have to submit a tax form? I am glad to see others are benefitting from you submitting your articles my friend.

Hey wolfie, and thanks. It is a tax reporting form regarding independenct contractors. Textbroker does not withhold anything, but they do have to report when you earn over a certain amount in a year. Maybe it is only a US thing.
