When a book comes out with a Movie, do you read and watch, both???

Example:
I saw the movie, "A Walk To Remember", then I researched and saw there is a book this movie. I wish I would have known there was a book, first. Since then, I've researched movies that have books and I, WILL NOT, watch a movie, until I read the book first.
What is your favorite, Book + Movie, combo.???

I usually read a book before I watch a movie. I think it was the Da Vinci Code movie that left out a very important part of the book and I only picked it up because I read the book first. On the other hand, however, I am watching the Twilight Series and I will read the book after.

i think it's cool to read the book first and then watch the movie. you can also do this to compare one from the other, i mean which is better between the book and the movie. if you want to be smarter or to improve your imagination and enter a different world, read the book itself but if you want to have adventure, excitement and fun, watch the movie. if you want to appreciate the beauty of every lines of the characters, you have to read the book but if you want to appreciate the beauty of the "characters" themselves, watch the movie. my favorite combos are The Davinci Code,The Manchurian Candidate, Pirates of the Carribean and the Last Song. I look forward to reading and watching Life of Pi, LOTR, The Hobbit and I am Number Four

i would watch both because i would like to see what happens if they are translated to onscreen and how it is going to pan out

I wanna read it first before watching but sometimes I don’t get plenty of time to do the reading. So I opt to just watch it when a movie from it comes out in theaters. Normally I cannot finish a book now because of my very busy life and career now.

as much as possible read the book first. if i found the novel great, i'd watch the movie.
i remember when i saw the lord of the rings: fellowship on the rings in the big screen, i immediately read the trilogy books. i guess it depends on the genre. if it's just love story, i'm not into reading the books if i've watched the movie already.

I liked Lonesome Dove which was a great book and was made into a great TV mini-series. I also liked Stephen King's The Stand although since the book was rather thick they reduced the number of characters. The Tommyknockers was also good but Needful Things was better as a book than as a movie. One thing about Stephen King novels is that they don't always translate as well to movies. Part of it is that King's description of events and horror is often more graphic than a film maker may want to show.

It really depends. There are some books that have been made in to movies that I have never read like Harry Potter but others where I have like Twilight and Hunger games where I have read the books and seen the movies before they where even made into movies.

i also prefer reading the book first and then go for the movie. That is basically because books give us a lot of minute details about the characters and the way they feel about something or someone, which the movies clearly fail to picturize. Other than that, a movie cannot actually been picturized with everything that is there in the book because of the obvious time constraints that they have got . So, a book is what is my preference. Still, i would go watch the movie to see how much they have imbibed from the book and how much they have succeeded.
I have also read and seen "A walk to remember". Nicholas sparks had taken us through a beautiful journey through the book. The movie also was quite good, but it wasn't as good as the book i must say. The way the writer narrates the whole thing is way beyond any persons imaginations.

I like to read the book first and then see the movie. You get so much more out of the books. I've read quite a few books that have recently gone to movies. The Hunger games was a great book and the movie was really good to. Just finish the City of Bones which is being made into a movie. Can't wait to see it the previews look really exciting.

My whole family (besides the 9 year old) insists on reading the book before watching the movie. We sometimes rent a movie, then realize it's a book and return the movie without watching it. Our two biggest reasons are 1. We want to know the real story. 2. We want to know all the things wrong with the movie so we can complain. That's what my family loves best, is complaining about how horrid a movie is compared to its book.

I also prefer reading books first as the book will have more details than the movie. Also in the movies,a lot is dependent upon the acting performances of the actors. Also the real story would be present in the book only,as much will be changed for the movie.'A walk to remember' and 'Silence of the lambs' are a couple of books which i enjoyed as movies also.
