Hello folks!
It's been long since I was last active here!! Was quite busy :(
I am yet to finish my course, but I got recruited by a Not-for-profit Organisation (NPO) recently in the campus-recruitment held at our college campus. So it just came to my mind yesterday and I thought of knowing the thoughts of mylotters regarding jobs.
When you choose a job, especially your first job, what would you give more importance to, your interest/passion or money??
I wanted to work in "development sector" at grassroots level when I joined my course. I didn't think twice to trade-off other jobs that paid more with the one I longed for. I didn't attend the interviews of other organisations and waited for the kind of job I was passionate about. Ultimately and NPO visited our campus and I attended the interview and got through :) I preferred my passion over money.
What are your thoughts? What would you do, friends? :)

HI congrats
These days its very important to get the job through campus selection. Once we step out its a lot of struggle. Good for you that you got selected.
By the way what is the name of the NPO you got selected for? what's your job profile and position?

thank you prashu :)
The organisation I am selected for is SRIJAN (Self-Reliant Initiatives through Joint ActioN)
You can know about it on www.srijanindia.org
For the first year I would be working as "project trainee" and from second year onwards I would be project executive. I've been recruited as a "young professional".
My job would be to work as a trainee first and learn community institution building and implementation of developmental works through those institutions..may it be livelihood support, income-raising of rural poor, natural resource management etc..

I am from India.
Yes, it's almost the same situation here too. It's not that I had many job offers. I just took the risk of not trying for other jobs that did not interest me.

I work hard on internet job project. I think I'll complete it this year. Hey, even while typing this I earn from Mylot. Cool.
If I make this project I can pay for the school and have a nice comfortable life.
