I wake up 4am in the morning to go online and go to sleep about 11pm. And I spend all the time online. I'm a natural internet addict. I don't know why but I feel uneasy if I'm not online. I don't have particular site to open.I just read news all day. I guess I'm obsess in reading news. I'm more like information addict.
But same time I guess this is how I coop with having no job for six years now. I don't really go out much. I guess I'm lucky to go to the mall once or twice a year and the rest of the time I'm just at home surfing.

maybe you should try to find other activity which has nothing to do with the internet.you must have other hobbies, try to plan your activities too. it worked for me! i never wake up so early but i used to spend my time during the day. now i'm not staying more than 3 hours without taking a break, doing something else.
internet is addictive but there are so many other activities you can do for your health at least. you can use a phone with internet connexion for the news while you're outside, enjoying a great day with your friends :) this sounds better for me than sitting alone in front of the pc :)

I used to stay up really late, like 2 in the morning, I've cut back on doing that and now I'm concentrating on making money right now so I'm doing less fun things on the internet in order to earn money online.

It's not good for your health to spend so much time in front of a computer. First, your body needs to move. The difference in health between those who are active and those who are not, is amazing. It may not bother you now, but it will in the future.
Then there's the fact that even "safe" computers emit radiation that can be damaging.
Feeling uneasy when you're not online is a sure sign of addiction. You might be able to break it slowly, but it takes a lot of willpower. What would you do if you lost electricity or the internet?

Do you have any friends in your real life ? you should try and make time and spend it with them . You need to go out some more and get your life together , the internet can be addictive but we cannot allow it to take over our social and physical life .

It's true that Internet is one of the things in which most of the people are getting addicted to it. In my opinion everyone should keep a control in using Internet. My advice is to indulge in some of the outdoor games or try some cooking in home itself if you are not interested in going out. This will give you some free relaxation to your mind and keep you away from Internet.

That does sound a little excessive.
If you want to stop surfing completely, then cancel your internet service. I think yoy need a job - I also think you internet usage is stopping you from seriously searching for a job.

Hi!
You should limit yourself and should spend some time on physical activities rather than surfing the net all day.
You could join some social service group to indulge in some useful activities.
Remember excess of everything is bad.

Maybe you think you are going to miss something if you are not online. I think we all feel like this from time to time, that we need to get off the computer and do something else. Maybe you will grow out of it and reduce your time. Or maybe you should add a different activity to your day. Hopefully you will get a job soon and that will definitely reduce your time.

I think most people get an internet addiction now and again. You need to focus more on your life and less on the internet. Find other hobbies that don't involve the computer. There is a lot of free hobbies that you can do. Try setting a side time everday that you do something besides using the computer and gradually increase that time. Go for a walk out in the fresh air, read a book, get a daily newspaper to keep up on the news. Try making something with your hands like cooking, woodworking, painting, or gardening.

For me I can still control the use of my internet, though i stayed at home most of the day since i am a house wife. So I don't think I am addicted into. But when I was still an online English teacher, I feel the same way, always checking my mails and surfing the internet almost the whole day. I am not feeling comfy whenever I turned off my computer. But I am glad I can manage now. I can manage my time at the same time, but still I am at home most of the day. Spending time with my kid, prepare things and after surfing the net.

Try to join a gym or a club.. something that would get you out of this house. Whenever you catch yourself in a haze and staring at the computer screen blankly, just stand up off your chair and walk around your house.. anything to get your eyes and mind off the computer. When you can do this frequently (standing up off the computer to walk around), you will start being bored and looking out the window and paying attention to other things. It's a slow recovery but it will happen!
I had the internet growing up as a child, but I always do this to make sure I don't lose my attention while surfing the web. Good luck!
