This year it's the first family day stat holiday in British Columbia. I have participated in family day for several years while living in Ontario. Funny how each province in Canada took on this new stat holiday in different years.
Anyway I'm planning on opening up my museum for free for family day. I'd Los love to do a presentation and activity. I think I'm going to do a butter making session in an antique churn. Should be fun.

What kind of museum is it? Does it have a bit of everything or is it specializing in a certain area? Sound like a good idea I have never made homemade butter and I heard it was hard good luck and have a great time.

It is a heritage house. A family lived there for 3 generations. So it's set up as though they still live there. From time period of 1880-1920

That is really good - having free museum for family day.
I believe many families will appreciates it very much!
We do not practice family day as public holiday here.
Just wonder how is it over there and the overall ambience.
By the way, what do you means by your museum? Do you own
and operate your personal museum or the museum is the
place you work? I am just curious!

Is Family Day going to be on Feb 18th again this year, since it's a Monday? the ironc thing is that on that date I am going to be on a plane to NYC! :) I've always wanted to go to NYC, and now I have a great opportunity to do so, and the people I will be meeting there will be convening on the 19th, so I'm flying in on the 18th to make sure I don't miss anything.

So, is this family day majorly for people come to together within a community? Like a fair, so people can contribute their cooking and other specialty to other people. It sounds fun though, but we don't have such family days in here. It might have some sort of special occasion in a church community for church members to participate, but I never go to church though.
