The Second Amendment says: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
As ratified by the States and authenticated by Thomas Jefferson, Secretary of State:
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.[8]
A key to the amendment says in regards to the security of a free state. If the state or the government is not at risk, a militia is not necessary according to the interpretation.
Yes I know many people can interprete that many ways. But certainly it gives the state the right to examine and direct which weapons are the best for a free society to posess in help for our republic.
