So do you know what you are wanting to do with your loved ones for Valentines day this year?
I'm not sure what me and my husband are doing for Valentines day. I would like to just go out the two of us no kids with us although I do love going out to dinner with them it's rare when it's just the two of us.
I'm still going to do something special for our little ones either way.

I'll get my kids something, but I don't see anything romantic going on over here unless my husband tries to surprise me with something. You actually like going out to eat with your kids? How old are they? I like the idea of taking my kids out to eat, but they have way too much energy in public.

I don't mind taking my girls out to eat (they are 3 and 6) BUT I won't take them grocery shopping with me. I wait until the weekends when my ex has them to do that!

Yes I do take my kids out with us to eat all of the time. A couple of weeks ago we took them to Red Lobster with us. My daughter is going to be 2 next week and my son is about to turn next week 5 months old. We take our kids out in public ever since they where born. We don't always have babysitters but it doesn't stop us from having a nice night out even though it won't be romantic with them it's always good to just go out as a family.

I'm not sure yet what my boyfriend and I are going to do for Valentine's day yet. My oldest daughter(grade 1)has valentines to give out at school, and we are making heart decorated cupcakes for the bake sale she has at her school that day. I will get my boyfriend a card and maybe a stuffed "love turtle" if I can find one as he loves turtles! We will all probably have a nice dinner together, and I will make a heart shaped cake with icing and decorate it with heart candies for dessert!

The girls and I (3 and 6) decorated cupcakes for her bake sale last year too, and we did cookies at Christmas too! They love decorating baked goods, so it should be fun! I bet your daughter will love the red play dough! Hopefully you and your husband can get out for a little while and enjoy some time just the two of you! Hope you have a nice Valentine's Day!

That will be fun for you and your daughter to make some cupcakes. I love baking with my daughter although for her it's more like drawing with it then making them because she is going to be 2 at the end of the month and her brother will be 5 months at the end of the month.
I think I might make play dough with my daughter with red koolade that way if she eats it, it won't hurt her.
I'm hoping to go out for a little bit just mean and my husband if not that will be okay as well. I think I'm getting flowers or strawberries but I could be wrong.

Actually, Valentine's day has just passed. We are usually gone in Portland OR most of the day since our anniversary is the 13th, and so we just go out of town, usually go to red lobster for dinner,, and then celebrate more from there.

That sounds like fun. We went to the movies in the day time and spend the night with the kids at home and had lunch out and and order dinner in. This year.

Yes the Valentine day is nearing. Let you enjoy with your family at the most , even i am thinking of going out for a dinner with my family. Everyone are very enthusiastic to celebrate the valentine day, some of them will be out for a whole day enjoying it. It is very happy learn the families enjoy on this special day.

We aren't sure if it's dinner yet or not. It would be nice to but if not we will do something nice at home with the babies.

My husband & I don't celebrate Valentines day simple because we don't believe that you should show your loved ones that they are loved for that one day only. If you love someone you should love them all year round. Not one day goes by that my husband & I don't tell each other that we love each other. Sometimes for no other reason then the fact that I love my husband I will get him a card to show him how much. Just last week for no reason at all my husband came home with a pair of diamond earrings. We are always doing stuff like this for each other simply because we realize that life is too short & that every day you should tell the ones you love that you love them. That doesn't mean you have to go out & buy a card or a gift every other day, but who doesn't like being surprised every once in a while? The fact that it is for no other reason that you love them just makes it mean that much more.

True as that maybe you can share you love with each other any day of week but there is no shame in there being just a day about all love not just love of you own husband but of everyone that you love that is what valentines day is celebrating just more then one type of love.
Me and my husband don't get that time where we can just doing things when we want to do things our kids come first so having a day in which yeah we can go out other then our birthday's is nice some times to know at one time of the year for sure someone else will want to take the kids so we get a little time to ourselves other then at home when our kids are in bed. I couldn't care less if he spend a dime on me or not it's about the time which is what valentines days is for as well as it's a Saints day celebrating a Saint.

Shybear, I understand what that is like, believe me. Our 5 children are a total of 10 years apart from oldest to youngest.. so we had a rough few years. My oldest was 4 when I met my husband, and it wasn't difficult to find someone to take my son so I could date my husband.. but only 2 years into our relationship our twins came along. From that point on we never got a moment to ourselves.
It gets better though. It may not seem like it right now.. but time goes by faster than you'd like and before you know it your kids will be old enough to be left at home without an adult, and you and your husband will have all the free time in the world to date again.
That is the point we are at now. My oldest is 15 and watches the younger ones whenever we need him to. The twins are 10 now themselves and the younger ones are 6 and 5. We no longer ever have to worry about going out.. now it's just a matter of having the money to do something nice together, which is rare.. but still we will shop together or just walk around a store to get some time alone. We also go to the gym together on weekends and stuff.

Well if you don't want to spend much you can cook him something or buy a card or make a card. Something the best things are the things you can make yourself. A nice dinner is always a nice way of saying I love you.

We generally do not celebrate. The kids do their Valentine exchange in school, and this year a couple of them have sweethearts so we may need to buy a little something as a gift because they did so at Christmas. Otherwise I hate to feed into the commercialism of it. I see no reason why we need a special day to show our love.. we should do that everyday. I am one of those that truly believes these types of holidays were created by the retail companies to earn some money.. perhaps that's not the history of the holiday, but that's what it stands for now!

As true as that maybe that we can celebrate any day not everyone gets that time to and can't always planned it and some times we forget to say we love you to people so a reminder is okay and it's about celebrating all love for all things not just the people in your life and you don't need to spend money to celebrate it you can do things at home or do something fun.
Not sure what we are doing but we always do something since my daughter was born 2 years right before valentines day so it was the first big thing to celebrate with her and the same with last year when I found out about baby two it was the thing that cheered me up after being told I lost him but then I didn't.
My parents paid for last year and the year before then for us to go out and eat with our daughter. This year not sure if we will eat out or just stay in and do something. I don't know what to do with a 5 month old just yet.

Hi there ShyBear88,
Indeed it is. The love month is fast approaching and for sure, many people get excited with this. And this is also the reason why I am thinking a lot on how to get more sales on the items that we will going to sell this coming love month.

Normally the sales happen after Valentines day at least for valentines day stuff which is good if you have school aged kids you can get cards for the next year unless you have no kids.
I'm not sure what we are doing for Valentines day yet. I'm going to find something to do.

I like to bake treats with my children for them to take to school. I don't like to buy anything for valentines day normally because I find like most things, the holiday has become way too commercialized. I think my husband and I will probably enjoy a movie night together or a game night. We don't have anyone to watch the kids lately so to go out just the two of us has not been feasible. It doesn't bother me though because we get alone time when the kids are in bed!

That's normally what me and my husband do just spend the night with the kids but some times we get someone from our families to watch the little ones for a bit. Last valentines day we took our daughter out with out to dinner to Apple bee's and of course I was pregnant then so it was fun night thankfully I didn't get sick. We had a good time laughing at our daughter.
This year not sure because there isn't much to do with a 5 month old baby.

That is very sweet. It's hard to find anything that is a duck or a bee or even a Tinkerbell for valentines day to get my daughter. I don't know what to get her but I was thinking about making some red play dough at home that is edible for her to play with. Not sure about my son yet because he will be 5 months old then. Me and my husband have nothing planned yet.

Of all the celebrations we have practiced already , Valentines day is the celebration that i hate most ! Why do we need to celebrate this when we can celebrate love everyday , when we can have a date any day we wish and when we can make each other as special everyday. Why need to set for a date for single day , when we can gather together then celebrate life and love. Why need to be romantic in public when we can show love in our home and show how to be romantic also,
@ShyBear88 (59347)

Remember it's not a day just about someone your in love with but the love that you have for anyone. Your parents, your pets, your kids whomever it is you can do something special for them because you can't always do something special every day of ever week when ever you want some times because people have a life and it's not an official holiday since nobody gets off. Single people can celebrate being single any day because they are single and valentines day isn't just for couples.
I have two kids I celebrate with them and then try to do something alone with my husband but that probably won't happen so we will do something with the kids because alone time for us doesn't happen yet since my youngest is 5 months old.
Also valentines day doesn't have to be romantic, or public for that matter either. Lots of people stay home and cook dinner or do a breakfast thing or bake something nice for everyone.

You can always getting into something with your family it's not always about the person your in loved with.
I don't know what we are doing yet either. I got to find something to do with my 2 year old and a 5 month old not much he can do nor get him.
