Today I decided I was going to make a lasagna for supper. I love lasagna it is my absolute favorite meal, but only if I make it. I am not saying I make the best lasagna in the world but if it is not to my standards I get very disappointed so I don't like to eat other people's lasagna. I probably miss out on some really tasty lasagna because of this but I hate to take the chance of being upset by my favorite food.
Well back to the point of my discussion, today I tried something different with my sauce and added salsa to it. It was so delicious I was full and still wanted to eat more. My belly couldn't handle another bite. I have some left over for lunch tomorrow but may encounter the same problem. Have you ever tried cooking something a different way and it turned out so good you couldn't stop eating it?

awww my waterloo... if liked something I would love to have it over and over again, now I crave for chocolate drink (inspired by one of the discussions few days ago) still not successful to buy in the market hehehe..
Yes, and it's was not me, who enjoyed it, as well as the family. Gosh.. told my sister I am now the reigning queen of the kitchen.. She used to be one few years ago.. but I took the pot and big cooking spoon from her. When I went home last holiday, I missed cooking so I cooked at home a lot, I cooked and cooked and before leaving for Thailand, people complaint for they all gained weight. Or maybe they will just miss me. hahahaha

I always try to experiment with my cooking. Although, cooking is a newer hobby to me. I have kind of had to teach myself. My mom is just now getting into cooking as well so I didn't learn growing up. I do really well with recipes, but get nervous when it comes to making stuff up. I am allergic to beef (found out in high school) so it has been a very long time since I have had lasagna. I wasn't fan then. My husband does like it though so maybe I need to try to make it once or twice for him. He is very picky about it too because his mom used some special cheese or something. What about yours makes it so good?

Experimentation with cooking can be interesting and fun. Though picky eaters will not think so. I hope your husband will try some of it though because often we won't know if we like the food if we do not like it.

I taught myself, but I started cooking as a kid. When I was 13 I made a lot of the family meals because my parents worked weird hours. I found joy in it and always loved to experiment. My husband is picky too, but he has gotten used to my experimenting even though he was never fond of trying new things before he met me. When I was making my lasagna he actually said to me "make it however you want, if I like it I like it, I f I don't I'll eat it anyways" lol.

At least he is trying new things then.
With that experimentation you will find new foods you enjoy. When you don't like it, you will know that and not try the combination a second time. Or you can tweak them to what you do like.

I love lasagna too.
My kids loves my spaghetti a lot that they always ask me to cook for them when they miss it.
Even my friends are requesting me to cook whenever we had the chance to meet or hang out around.

This sounds really delicious Lasagna is also one of my favorite types of foods. Anything with sauce is usually good, spaghetti too. We had some spaghetti last night for dinner. I wish it had been lasagna cause I hadn't had any in so long.

The spaghetti sauce in a can is what we had too, but, it had many spices put into it. I much prefer my mom's homemade sauce, it is sooo good and I miss having that.

It is turkey dinner at the holidays is when I just stuffed myself - except I don't eat the stuffing. :)
I think sometimes we do need to eat a good meal. So glad you enjoy your own cooking and that you can cook a good lasagna. I like to add spinach to my lasagna so that there is a vegetable in the lasagna. I think it tastes good with lasagna but I was told that Italians don't add spinach to the lasagna. Oh well, every cook is entitled to cook the way they like and think is best.
Glad you were able to make and enjoy a good lasagna.

I always eat too much when we have turkey dinner as well. My lasagna has mushrooms and green pepper and onions in it so it does have vegetables, I don't know if I would like lasagna with spinach. I'm not crazy about spinach and it might ruin a delicious meal.

I think I must be missing something, but I can't stand lasagne, seems I am in the minority here as most people love it, I guess it's one of those foods that you love or hate. I am not very adventurous when it comes to cooking to be honest, I just don't have the time or patience to create anything new.

Yes, but very rare! Glad to know that you really enjoyed your new lasagna
with a twist. Reading your post here make me want to eat
lasagna too. Too bad, there is no western restaurant with lasagna near
my office. Or else I sure order one for my lunch. Talking about lasagna,
Garfield in the comic strip love it too! I did try to make special sauce
with variety of ingredients for my spaghetti, and there is one time is was
so good that my son asked me to cook some more next time. I am so happy
to see my love ones enjoying my cooking!

I am always so happy when my family loves my cooking too, one time my son told me I should take some of my stuffed mushrooms to work and make my boss try some because after that he would want to sell them. The kids call them my famous stuffed mushrooms!. They really liked my lasagna too, it makes me so happy.

I love lasagna too but i don't know how to cook it. I would just always order lasagna whenever i eat out. I would always choose a restaurant that serves lasagna.
Last New Year's eve my brother-in-law ordered 2 big trays of lasagna in addition to the other foods we have already.
As always, lasagna is the best among the pasta for me.
I can just imagine your delicious lasagna my friend. Can you share your recipe with me please?

I love homemade lasagna, and we all make it differently. I don't mind the boughten ones once in awhile. But I love either vegatarien with spinach, and other veggies with loads of cheese or meat with loads of cheese. I will say my Mother makes the best thaat I have tried.

I am not a big fan of the store boughten ones, but I will eat them. I use to buy one while in college store boughten and loved it. But I believe they discontinued it. I love the meatless ones, but only with cheese, spinach in it non of the mushrooms, peppers etc.

I suddenly become hungry. I love pasta, and one of my favorites is lasagna. Unfortunately for me and quite your opposite, I don't really know how to make a good lasagna. In fact I haven't even tried cooking it. I guess because like you, I don't want to ruin it for me, because I know up to what extent I can cook. So I leave the lasagna to my mom's expertise and explore other dish that I can practice on. Maybe a couple more practice and I will be able to prepare my favorite lasagna.
