My dad always tell me that we should be kind-hearted at least not to be doesn't understand others situation.So do you agree with that and be a good listener also works.I think things both work out if you had meet that two things.7 responses

Your dad is right. And by being such, you earn the respect of the people you interact with, jricky.
And i am glad that i am a kind hearted or soft hearted person. But as to being a good listener, it depends on what is being talked about.

What really breaks my heart is when i see beggars who are really so much of a pity. Like a husband and wife, where the husband is blind and the woman so skinny asking for alms. My heart goes out for them when i gave my alms, specially when i saw them sit by the sidewalk to rest from going around.

yes, i believe in that. respect is not imposed but earned. if you like to be respected by others, you have to respect them too because respecting others means respecting yourself. we always have to be a good listener and speaker as well. we always have to be kind to people we talk to and they always have to find us easy and fun to be with. let us enjoy life and be happy always! have a good time!

We should always take time to listen to people who needs someone to talk to and also be kind to others as much as possible. That way we gain lots of friends and also we are able to have a very peaceful life.

I partly agree but not completely. The most important thing is to be honest. Not to lie, to say what you think or believe in. So people know who you are and when to count on you or not. I think it's impossible Always to understand others or their situation. I also believe there is no need to do so as long as you will respect and are able to accept people the way they are. There is no need to be close friends with everybody. But if you invest time with someone or offer help you should do so/keep your promise. If you are not able to do so, just do not offer it.

Honesty is just so important no matter what happened,i mean to learn to understand is important but how things going on can't be decided.But a good understanding can just make things easier.While you don't need to please everybody,cuz we can't.So just be you and do good to people you want.

I agree, we should always be understanding of someone else's situation. Having compassion is putting yourself in someone else's shoes and understand what they are going through. I also agree with being a good listener. Understanding someone and having empathy for where they are in life will only "bring them up" instead of "tearing them down."
