Cats usually dont appreciate being disturbed and move about thier own free will. What about female cats are they more aggressive, angry and dangerous than the male cats? Do they have hormonal up and downs like human females that affect their moods?

I always said, get a male cat, a male horse but a female dog Female cats have a reputation of being spiteful when old and I have known a few like that and whereas dogs will fight for dominance, b!tches fight to kill all the best, urban

A female cat with kittens, called a "queen", will often defend her kittens from any perceived danger. Gismo's mother was an absolute terror when her babies were little. We called her a "trap door spider" because if she even saw another cat she'd attack. She didn't mind us humans, but other cats! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trapdoor_spider Now calico and tortoiseshell cats (always female) have a reputation for being temperamental, but really only our blue tortie is that way, even our biggest cat is wary around her because you never know if she's going to decide to attack, happily she's also one of the smaller cats, so she hasn't hurt anyone. Russian Blue cats, as compared to other blue cats, also have a reputation for being nasty, and the two blue cats I have had were pretty nasty to other cats.

Yes, certain breeds will be more "nasty" - the females - esp. tortoiseshells (torti) - who, as you said, are always females - I have a friend with three male and two female cats, one is a torti. Star has to be sedated before she can even be taken to the vet!. The only one who can handle her is her owner, Keith. I have always owned male cats - I have two now - but am thinking of getting a female to add to the mix. Males together can be very territorial, and get rough with each other. My cats are always fixed, which helps, but territory is territory...lol. The reason I'm thinking of adding a female is because of that issue. She'll be the "Queen" and good luck to the guys trying to get in her way!

Hi elic, yes, torties are temperamental. I had one and you could never tell which way she would go. It was never a good idea to get your face near hers because she would either kiss you or scratch you, it was anybody's guess what she might do. timetravel, my tortie was horrible at the vets. Not bad enough to be sedated but I did consider it. She attacked the vet tech one time. And even though they're fixed, like you say- territory is territory.

Hi friend Sometimes, because female cats are more irritable than male cats. Some female cats became angry whenever they were disturb . I think that female cat's are more MOODY.

Moody means? They cannot play with them too much like a male cat.

Male and female cats are the same, but it depends if they are fixed. Females certain times o the year, tend to be more agrresive. I have 2 males, and 1 female cat, my female tends to be much happier, and loving than my two male cats.

so you wouldnt agree to the other comments above that say that female cats are Moody and have mood swings and thus irritable?

Aggressive, angry and dangerous? They can be! Although the most vicious cat I had was a male. He was possessive in the extreme. He seemed angry a lot but loved me very much. When he was young he was very mellow but after he turned 3 he became somewhat high strung and moody. The strange thing is he was a Persian cat and they're character description didn't fit him at all. He was a Traditional Persian rather than a Peke-face, so I don't know if that makes a difference. All the other cats I've had were pretty laid back, male and female. One exception was a female Norwegian Forest cat I had. She was the most territorial cat I've ever seen. And she was absolutely in love with my bf and was a little possessive of him. I guess they can be pretty much like people, all different types of personalities.

I have had both male and female cats......I can't say that the moods are really that much different between the two.....I think it depends on their age, health etc.....I know that my female is alot more playful still then my male was but he was also 3 years older.... I think both females and males of both cats and humans have mood swings laffin..... Have a great night....
