I do believe that Team India miss The God Of Cricket.India had its best chance of winning ODIs with Sachin in the team line up.His presence in the team was an inspiration for the whole team.Even in his late 30s , the enthusiasm and energy he showed on the field was really appreciable. No player ever on this planet has never shown such sportsmanspirit and commitment towards the sport.India is now terribly missing Sachin in batting line up.His retirement is not only a loss for Indian Cricket, but is a loss for The whole cricket world. But hope still remains for all the Sachinists that he will be continuing in test format.A player of Sachin's class will never ever happen again.. datz for sure..

I strongly agree with what all you said. Definitely Indian team is missing the master. Even though Sachin is not in his real form, even the presence of him in the team will give much more confidence to the fellow players. He is having such an immense influencing power. Recently after Sachin's retirement India lost so many matches which the team can win easily.

Truly, not having a player of Sachin Tendulkar's calibre does makes a lot of difference in the team. It takes time to adjust to such a situation, but I hope the Indian players would get used to such a situation quickly.

I actually have believed that he should have retired when India won the world cup. But when he did not do it, I think he has at least retired at the right time. I think his body is now beginning to ache with the number of matches being played and we need to preserve him for the Test matches where the team has been depleted the max with the retirements.
Cheers!

Surely India misses Sachin Tendulkar. But this is how life goes around. No one can expect to stay forever, in no facets of life. We are so lucky that we have got to see him playing in ODIs for over 23 years. We will have a new idol now that Sachin is finally gone, not quite like Sachin, of course, but that's no point to complain. We have got to find one, and we will find one, even if we don't want to.

Yes, one has to adjust to the things gradually. It is difficult in the starting, but one gets used to it gradually.

Yes, true a player of Sachin's class will never ever happen again. I also agree that Sachin is an outstanding cricketer, but was misfit in the One-day side with his recent form. He was always blamed throughout his one day career for not being a match winner and rightly so. He took so long to make 100th century, which he finally completed against a weaker side like BanglaDesh. Yes India will miss him for some time until we find a better opening pair.

I do think that India is missing Sachin Tendulkar. I think Sachin is one of the greatest ODI player that India had ever and the class of Sachin Tendulkar had helped to win lots of matches for team India.

the main reason team india might miss tendulkar is not as a top-class batsmen but as a scape-goat.
when india lost the series against australia and england, sachin, dravid, and laxman got critisised more than the captain, bowlers and even the management.
even when india were trashing the kiwis, the news channels got more interested in tendulkar getting bowled.
even if the majority of the players were out of form, they only want to know when sachin is gonna retire.
now sachin has retired, the indian players have no one to divert the media like sachin do and all their failings are flash news now.
happy for sachin he is playing for mumbai in ranji trophy where he is truly appreciated and not complaining about him hogging the spot in the playing XI.
i got only one wish though.
sachin keeps playing domestic matches and keep missing the test matches and then out of the blue, call the press and say he is retiring from all form of cricket including IPL.
wouldn't that be a slap for all those who have been using him as a punching bag

So basically you have problems with every body except Sachin. I'm always opposite to you. We have a discussion "India needs more Dhonis" and you were against it. If media can appreciate highly anybody than it has the rights to disgrace anybody as well. I still believe that India poor show in England and Australia is because stalwarts have performed poorly. India have always perform well outside when seniors had played well. Be in 2003-04 series of Australia when Laxman and Dravid played extraordinary or in 2007 in England when Dravid Ganguly and Laxman played well.
Sachin days are gone and if he retires before Australia series, it would be good for Indian cricket team. He has served for 24 years and now let youngster serve the Indian team. When Sachin retires from ODI, India has not come to a standstill(which ofcourse it should be) because he was too late in retiring . And it would not be a slap in the face for anybody if he retires from all forms of the game.
And if you still doubt Dhoni abilities as captain and batting skills in ODI, than you are living in other planet. India need Dhoni like players rather than Sachin like players.

please,i am very open-minded.a die-hard sachin fan,i know all his weakness, even critisised it many times.
since most of the mylotters seems to be dhoni fans,i also want to jump the ship.
can you do me a favour plz?
impress me with all you can find about Dhoni's astute captaincy right from the match against west indies where he stopped the match when 87 was required from 15 overs with 7 wickets remaining to the reason given behind giving joginder sharma the last over during the inaugural R20 world cup right upto the last match against england.
you can even start with the 2011 world cup.since Dhoni won the cup for india, what did he do as a captain to make sure india won the game?
as captain.
i am all ears.
just dont bring up statistics.it is very misleading.

Ok I'll provide you Dhoni match winning performances in ODI as well a able leader examples but you too do me a favour. You count me Sachin some match winning innings when India were chasing(Occasion must be big).
You may point out Dhoni weakness as a captain to a certain extent in tests but not in ODIS. He is one of the best ODI player in the world. In ODI, I would like to have Dhoni in my team, second choice would be Sachin.
And Dhoni world cup final inning is better than any of the Sachin innings.

Sachin was the best batsman we ever had. The Indian team doesn't look like same without him. No one can deny that he has served Indian Team wonderfully and many a times single handedly. Who can forget the last over he bowled in Hero cup against south Africa when they needed only 5 runs to win with wickets in hand. No one wanted to bowl so he simply took the ball and bowled and gave only 2 runs and India won. Yes ofcourse every one miss him but every good thing has to come to end. I wish he was still with Indian team.

It is not possible to not miss a great batsman like Sachin Tendulkar. He has not retired from cricket and still is playing domestic cricket and is available for test cricket too. I am sure that Indian batting must be missing him a lot but his body is not same anymore and age has caught up with him and he has retired from ODI gracefully and we should accpt that.

Hi Nth,
Sachin was with Indian team since he was 15 and has been playing for India for last 24 years. I am sure like me all his fans miss him too. So if his fans miss him then surely Indian team must be missing him. He was one of the greatest batsman of the modern era of cricket. He has given India many things to remember both with bat and ball.

Hi Nth
Yeah it is a great loss to not only India but also to the entire cricket world , still he is also a Human so we have to honor his decision to retire from ODI 's. It is the right time for him to leave as he know that he is not co -operating to the team .We can still enjoy his batting in Test format i hope he will do well with the pressure off his shoulders.

I have through this discussion. I do agree with it. Though Sachin did not score more but, whenever he had been on ground there used to be moral pressure on the opponent team and he was inspiration and the Indian team players used to get moral courage. Sachin is one and only one. There cannotor will be another Sachin for next century years

he is a legend.he is a class apart in cricket.
But its high time to find an young batsman in place of him in one-dayers.
In tests he is still okay.
Sachin had his achievments. But now since he is 40 years of age and it is considered pretty old in the field of cricket he needs to think.
Flaws of his batting style were evident.
Already bowlers are saying do not be afraid of Sachin ,he is old and he is losing his form in a frequent manner.
Remember this can be a negative aspect if he is again back in one-dayers.
He can still continue playing tests.

Sachin Tendulkar is good. but forever we cannot rely on any man, it is to continue and will continue let Team India take its credit. It is a collective effort.
