It depends on what you mean by: too much. For sure is that too much water can harm as well. Your kidneys are not a sieve so if you drink a lot they have to work extra. Also.. if you drink too much water you can get poisoned by it (or poison someone with it). Poison is everything you get in too much. So drink a normal amount. See you do not get dehydrated. Mostly you can check it by your urine. If it's without a colour and doesn't smell it's fine. If it does smell and is yellow or even dark (brown) you drink way too less. The amount advisable depends on how much you sweat (out), in what temp you live, if you take other kinds of food, drinks, meds that might dehydrate you easily.

Drinking more water is always considered a good habit to keep a sound health. I think drinking too much of water by forcing ourselves might be considered to have ill effects. Otherwise I have always heard positive things about drinking water.

That depends on how much water you take in a day.
Drinking 1 liter a day is good- you may exceed 2 glasses more and it won't harm.
Water cleanse our body and some athletes who sweat a lot drink more than the daily recommended water consumption of normal people who doesn't work out much.

My dr. has told me for months to drink more water. he told me I need 6-8 glasses per day. i think he knows more about it than I do. So I drink as much as I can.

I heard that too. I think we just have to tune into our own bodies and drink water as much as we are comfortable. It is best to drink water when we are thirsty and not sodas. I don't keep track of how much water I drink during the day but when I am thirsty, I drink water. I don't drink sodas on a regular basis. I think the best thing is just use our common sense. The experts are always changing things anyways, next year, they will say something different. But common sense is common sense.

I think it all depends on how much you drink at once, as to whether you drink to much or not. I have a 64 oz water bottle by my laptop, and I don't drink all that each day, but it comes close. I just drink water in spurts throughout the day, so I don't drink to much at once. Since I drink my fruits and veggies each day, I take in less water, but not so much so, that I get dehydrated. Now, in the summer time, I seem to drink a lot more, as I sweat a lot and I get overheated and very thirsty. I don't drink any soda, as that isn't good for our bodies. Take care, and have a very good day.
