I think, and have read in many places, that the best time is when you feel it's best. I would say whenever you are most motivated. If you are more motivated in the morning, and you want to get out of the way, than that's your time. If it's more productive for you to relieve tension after work by exercising, than that's your time. The most important thing is that you do it. The last time I was on an exercise regimen, I actually exercised throughout the day because ten minute spurts of exercise are just as beneficial as 30-minute long workouts.

I think that makes sense. Our body has to keep moving so blood will circulatw and run through our veins ans arteries.

good morning Kokomo! I just woke up some time ago and (yawn) am feelin so lazy and sleepy. I think I will be sleepin on the treadmill if I go to the gym.
I can put the the machine in number 2 and stretch my hands on the calorie meter and rest my head on it. I think I can then work out my legs while sleeping. :D

I have also hears from a fitness instructor that it is best to exercise in the afternoon because our body has already warmed-up.Personally,I prefer to exercise in the morning before eating breakfast. Not only I will burn more fats ,doing this early in the morning helps me get through the day without feeling too tired.

In terms of air quarlity,I prefer to do it in morning, especially in big city, after a night's settled, the dust will fall to ground,so I guess it's the best time to work out before millions of people begin to go to work.

yea u r right, since exercise also involes intake of more air and if its polluted air then I guess it will cauase more damage to exercise.

the best way to find out is to try it. Maybe you can try both morning and afternoon and see which one feels better.

I took AP Biology in high school and my teacher actually covered this topic briefly. Whether it is her opinion or if it is scientifically proved, is still a mystery.
She told us working out in the morning is better. It would excite our metabolism and keep our body working faster. That means faster digestion and keeps you more awake during the day.
She also said that when we wake up in the morning, the stored carbohydrates that we ate the night before is gone. What we burn from working out would be fat, not food.
Since you read it in an article, I'm not sure if what she said was valid haha. But many people I know enjoy working out in the morning more.

I find the gyms over crowded in the evenings. Maybe people run and jump after work to kick off the scoldings they get at work.

Thanks for this nice discussion.
I think one should exercise in morning and evening hours.
For working any time is good if one has the zeal

For me,morning exercise is still better.
Just like in a basketball, you have to warm-up first before the actual playing..
To go on the actual activities of the day, an exercise in the morning will do..
Evening for me is the reward of a tiresome day, so it is the rest-time..
