With so many oils in the market, what is the best oil to have tasty yet healthy french fries? Have you tried using butter? Is it ok?

I think the healthiest oil might be organic coconut oil. It's very good for all kinds of things. But I don't know how the fries would taste. I wonder if they would have a coconut-y flavor. Usually I use canola oil. That's supposed to be pretty healthy. And so is peanut oil but I never used it.

Yes, I just read something like that. Let me see..."shampoo, the soap, the hair conditioner, and would you believe even the lotion". I love the smell of coconut. I use to burn coconut incense. If I didn't love vanilla even more I would use coconut. Coconut oil is good for dry skin and a lot of other stuff. Do you know what oil pulling is? www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/oil_pulling.html check it out. You'll like it (I think).

Coconut oil is not healthiest it gives acne and makes the skin black.

hahaha .. cute discussion... I like all that is "french" including fries. hahaha... anyway, butter is ok, but very expensive. It might turn out salty already.. but yet so expensive, as fries should be deep fried. LOL

I have never tried using butter. I did use vegetable oil before and turned out good enough for me. But I try to consume as little oil as possible, so I also tried oil-less french fries before where it was oven-baked instead of deep-fried.

Butter? I think it will make the fires heavily greasy. I use palm oil and it's ok, not so like the fries in fastfoods but not so greasy also. Plus we can use the oil for weeks for frying potatoes but only for potatoes, we use cheaper oils for frying.

Just use vegetable oil. But you can use turbo broiler for your french fries. Much healthier.

How will turbo broiler make french fries healthy? Can it be used to fry meat or only vegetables?
