Facebook is seriously becoming a joke and now this whole paying thing. You have to pay $1.00 to send a messeage and now they are trying a test that would have you pay to promote your status. Really I decided to quit facebook not only because of this whole paying thing but because of other reasons too. Facebook isnt what it used to be for me anymore. I just dont care for it anymore kind of like with myspace I was on it the first year they went live then quit that too it has become too much of a dating type thing and if your looking for that I guess that's fine not my cup of tea though. I guess I just dont care for all these social networking sites a lot of it is nothing but garabage or spam that I dont have time for. I will grant it though with facebook I found my dad and a lot of old high school friends I lost contact with but with all the changes it's going downhill fast. I will still keep contact with all of them just not over facebook and I suppose I will keep it open because you cant really deactive it well you can but all you have to do is log back in so what good is that. but as far as getting on there like I used to is a thing of the past for me. Im on to bigger and better things. Im trying to limit the amount of time I have to be on the internet sure I have to be on here because of my work but other than that I dont want to spend time wasting on here when I could be doing other things. I'll probably stay on mylot I dont know Im just finding this whole internet, social networks stuff a bit boring and useless really. What are your thoughts on facebook and the changes.

I think the payment is if you want to send a message to people who are not in your friend's list. This is probably good to prevent receiving spam from people you don't know.

I haven't had ANY problems with message sending. Isn't it possible that your son hit a scam offering or something on Facebook???...

A rumor flew around that to message the owner of Facebook would cost you $100. Several people tried to message him and never got that warning, their messages went through properly. It is all a test really to see if it's a viable solution to spam that runs rampant. If someone is attempting to send a message and they've been reported for spamming in the past, it would make sense that they would be charged in order to make sure that the message is not spam. That's all it is, it's not worth going crazy over nor is it worth leaving.

I haven't heard of this paying to send a message. Crazy! Do they really think this is going to make them money? I don't use FB, and this is another reason why. I think FB was very valuable in helping you find your dad. But for most, it's just a bunch of meaningless back and forth. What will those people who are on FB all day sending messages do to fill their time?

When you open FB site, you will see this "Sign Up,It’s free and always will be", So for now, FB charges is still rumor since no confirmation of payment done yet. Facebook is still important for me, though I can say I can live without it. I don't consider FB a waste of time because I have family and friends on my list. "FILTERED LIST" :)

I just exchanged messages with my sister and we never pay anything. Might be just another rumor like fb si going to close. But if in case in the future it will ask for payment then time to leave fb. There's always another website that's free for sure.

The biggest thing I use facebook for is my childcare business. It has been getting me more business in my area. That's about it. Before my business I went on there like once in a few weeks... It doesn't interest me except for my business growing. If it wasn't for that I would not be on there at all.
