How can you tell your child is gifted?Does his grades tell he is one?

Some people would tell you that your child is gifted,because he has satisfactory grades in his report card from school.I think that is not the point of view,because there are other instance they are very dull during their elementary years,yet when they are in thew secondary years,they may pick up excellently,that is to the fact that they are just annoyed to the quality of atmosphere in the starting years of their studies.That was happening to my other child,when she was in the elementary.I do not know what to do,but when I have found out it was because of the many hard headed in her classmates,I just told her to just adjust and be guided accordingly,as I can not do more about these problems.When she was in high school,I was really very glad that she was already picking up her lessons and was one of the best in school.
