I don't know.I can say only that I always take a cold bath.It has been my routine since when I was a school student. But I can't say whether it has any positive or negative effect on my health.Yes,I feel refreshed after taking a cold bath.Taking hot shower makes me feel lazy and sluggish.Whenever I have cold and I am advised by the doctor to take a little and warm shower,I don't feel well.

That is the first time I have ever know that. I think a person would often get sick having cold showers. Scientifically, one person should take a warm bath unless it is really Summer. Warm baths have beneficial effects in our bad. You may check this out: http://kooskoek.hubpages.com/hub/Amazing-health-benefits-of-Epsom-salt

There is no harm in trying as long as you know your limitations.

I have not heard about this. And I guess there is no truth to that. I love cold showers when the weather's really hot. But these days, I cannot because it's so cold in here that we need to turn the water heater on.

Same here, nowadays is a winter season. My ethiopian lady friend once asked me, "ate why are filipinos taking a bath everyday even if it is so cold'. I answered, no not only filipinos even other nationalities do the same especially before going to work because it gives us a fresh and energetic condition.

Hi there Ms Zearah! It's amazing isn't it? I don't know in general but for me it is not necessary to shower by just washing your face with cold water in the morning and before bedtime helps my skin looks younger, usually I wash with my favorite scrub and rinse with cold water. Cold water close the pores and help the skin become tight and look fresh. BTW don't forget to apply moisturizing cream in every after wash, it makes your skin smoothly and soft ;)

Well a cold shower really works. In russia the place I born many peoples jumps in frozen waters. They feeling better after that. And that's true because the cold water increase your blood speed. And that means healthier life .but it not make you younger. If you want to take cold showers you should be careful. Take baby steps. Start from the hands and legs. And slowly continue to body. You will feel a lot healthier and younger!

Since you mentioned "healthier" then for me that would equate to younger looks because when you are healthy you have that healthy skin.

well, the asians look younger than westerners considering people of the same age. there must be some reasons. this may be a good hypothesis. in asia, taking a bath with cold water is common because of warm weather. while in western hemisphere, they take a bath with warm water because of cold weather. it may be a hearsay, but there may be some explanation why people look younger.

Well I remember the actor Paul Newman would dunk his face into ice water every morning to keep his face younger looking. So maybe there is some truth to it. Ten years though is a bit much. However cold showers are hard to deal with unless you are living on a tropical island. I start off with warm water and work it to cold water but it is gradual process. Also it has to be be really hot outside for me to do that. Right now in Puerto Rico its not as hot like it is in the summer. It gets cool in the evening. I would be afraid of getting sick with too much cold water.

I've read that soaking your face on cold water till your brain popped gives a healthy younger looking skin. I rub ice on my face after I scrub- at least once a week and I can say that it made me feel great after.

hi, that is not right, you can not look younger when you sock your face in cold water, not sure if its useful or not, but sure not going to change your skin and make the wrinkles go away

I don't think that's true or anything. I've been taking cold showers since I was a kid because my mom trained me and my brother to have cold showers especially when the weather is cold. Also, I think it's more of how you take care of yourself that can make you look younger than your age.

I see your point. In fact, I remember my college lady professor who told us her secret of being younger physically, according to her, taking a bath during menstruation will cause you a health problem, and so she takes a bath once or twice a week. She never take shower on that same day after travel.Guess what, she is so young and sexy at Fifty One years of age.

Your skin may be staying firmer and refreshed, but I don't think it would make you so good that you can look 10 years younger... it depends a lot on your genetics, too. It's not gonna help wrinkles, skin discoloration, hair loss etc.
