Killer Bee Honey?

While exploring yesterday, we came upon someone offering free samples of honey and honey comb, from killer bees. It did taste like any other honey, but it was strange to think that it was from killer bees. The shop had a lot of different kinds of flavors of honey, and the ones we tried were good. He told us that he was pretty much the only person who removed killer bees from the area, and he collected the honey and combs from houses and buildings. Pretty interesting. Ever heard of this? Have you or would you try killer bee honey?

I am up to eating any kind of honey. I just love eating anything sweet. Just give me honey but do not give me those bees! I had a life-threatening incident with those 2 years ago! It was just one stink on my middle finger and I had anaphylactic shock in just a few minutes. Good thing that my son and brother in law rushed me in time at the hospital or I was soon a goner.

I have heard those stings can be really bad. I am glad you are alright. The honey was very sweet. Amazing such dangerous things could make something so pleasant .

We just happened on it. I had never heard anything about it before. The guy had a lot of jars and pretzels outside his shop, and was trying to get people to sample it. Inside his shop he had many more flavors and even honey comb he was selling. I tried blueberry cream (the one we ended up buying), horseradish, mustard, and raspberry. I can't recall any others, but my son and husband tried them all I think. It was all glass jars, so I suppose I was just hoping that my hyper son did not break anything, since stuff was stacked everywhere. I had never thought about killer bee honey, or that you could make so many honey flavors!

this is cute. I have a story about that also. yesterday, a student came in room and disturbed me at the middle of the lesson (with another class) I attended to him and looked at what he was showing. Then I told him.. ahhh (it's a honeycomb)... then he repeated the word and went back (to wherever) maybe to his class. Then in the afternoon he showed me again.. then I told him.. ahhh its a honeycomb. Short background I teach in a non-English speaking country
hmmm in connection to your discussion: It is just a coincidence of the story of a honeycomb happened yesterday. nothing so special about it.
yes, it came from a killer bee and it just build it's colony to every where. My student showed the big honeycomb in between the leaves.
and it is a good business, only if you know and you have proper wear away from the bees. their stings are very fatal.

That is an interesting story. I guess I had just never thought about honey from killer bees. We have just moved to this area, so I was unaware they were that much of a problem and such a good business.

That is pretty cool, killer bee honey! I for sure would try it. I sure wouldn't try harvesting it myself though. I'm not that scared of bee's, but killer bee's really can hurt/kill you if you disturb them; they attack in so many numbers it's bad. I've heard they are steadily moving up North from the lower US states.
They should market that honey. Might could make a lot of money off it if no one else is doing it. First time I've heard of it anyway.

It was the first I have ever heard of it. The guy has his own FB, newspaper spots and they say he is in commercials. Pretty interesting.
