I wonder why my neighbor cried when his dog dead. He even made a special cemetery for his dong completed with the dog's nameplate. How do you think about this. Is is common for dog owners?

A dog becomes an important part of the family. Anyone who would cry over losing family certainly would cry over their dog. For some folks dogs are closer than people are to them. Companionship is something most people hold dear and pets shower you with an unconditional love our human companions sometimes lack.

I guess you never had a pet that you loved. This is not uncommon to do. Most people love their animals dearly and they are considered part of the family unit. They cry whether it's a dog, cat, turtle, hamster, mouse...doesn't matter. They are our companions and give us much enjoyment and love. Most people do cry when their beloved pets pass on.

You are all making fun, but when a person love his animals, it is hard when they get sick - worst scenario if they die. I would cry my heart out!!

Yes, it is very common for dog owners to cry whenever their pet passes away. A few years ago, my rottweiler, Sable, climbed over the fence that was purchased to protect him, and got into the highway. I don't have to tell you what happened next. My youngest son was totally in love with Sable and looked to her as being his only friend whenever we moved into a new neighborhood. Each day, he would come home from school and go directly to the back yard to play with his dog. Sable helped him to go through some rough times in his young life after his father and I separated. However, one day when he came home from school, he told me that a boy that lives in our neighborhood had told him that a rothie had been hit by a car that morning in front of the neighbors house. I had not seen Sable all day long. When I went to feed her, she was gone. We got into our van to look for Sable. When we found her beside of the road, lifeless, we all broke down in tears. It was one of the worst moments in our lives. Sable was a part of our family. My son cried for days. I cried until I could pray for some strength for my family to get through the lost. So, I guess that I have answered your question. Regardless of who it is, or what it is; love hurts when it is gone.

Yes. I cried when my dog passed. I didn't bury him though..didn't even get his ashes as I don't think that would have made thing easier. It has been years since he passed and I still miss him. He was a wonderful pet and good company.

Yes it's very common. It's like losing a family member to most people. I am almost crying just thinking about losing one of my little pups.

Yes, I'm closer to my dog than any of my relatives (other than my mom). She would be buried in the back yard with just a big rock maybe as a "grave stone". The last house we lived in had 5-6 stones like that from cats and dogs.

I would cry my eyes out if something happened to either of my dogs. They are part of our family and I love them so much. I would be heartbroken!
