Given the choice, would you rather have been born with a different eye color or skin tone? maybe you would have chosen to be taller, thinner or more muscular. Of course you didn't have these options. The physically and personal traits a person winds up with are just one big roll of the dice, with only biological parents, genes to draw from. However within the few decades, theres a good chance that biotechnology could give us the ability to pre-choose our children's physical and personally traits like we pick out options on a new car.

I think being able to do that would be awful.I beleave it would take away the childs personality and all kids would be the same ,all perfect like little robots.Wheres the fun in that.I have sometimes moaned about my kids like most mothers but I would not change a thing about them.Even the teenage rows have a reason, not to good while its happening but all part of forming their personallity traits. Maybe remove the gene for heriditary diseases now that would be a good thing.I think you can mess around with nature to much and that unsettles the whole balance of nature.

Maybe I would make myself just a bit thinner, but that's it. I', kind of used to what I look like :). As for the opportunity... ugh. It's so just about marketing, and it's violating nature, simply. Disgusting. Especially... like parents, who do it, kind of state that they would like the kid better if they had green eyes rather than brown or something, and that makes me wanna puke, for real.

If you look at the field of Animal genetics and how they select the traits they want in an animal. For example Dairy cows are bread to produce more milk but the trade off is the cows are not a smart and have difficulty functioning outside of the controlled farm environment. What happens if you have a child with the traits of more muscle but the child does not develop the muscles do they become overweight? When we try to control the traits do we run the risk of more birth defects? I do not think it is a good idea to try to create the perfect child.

Technology have gone through beyond imagination. They have tried a lot to create genetics mutation to animals- but they failed. Yes, the possibility is not that far, but must consider the side and bad effect. I won't go for it.

That would be really awesome if we will have a daughter with blue-green eyes and will will grow not smaller than 5 foot 8 inches! Too bad, even if that would be possible in the future, I would not be able to bear children anymore.

Even with the biotechnology and other advancement, still, it is not our choice to give life and the kind of physical attributes he or she will be having. There are lot of things that we cannot have the ability to decide: we don't decide what our gender is; we don't decide who are our parents; we don't decide even for our names; we don't decide when to die or for how long we live. One thing we can decide is where to spend our eternity. Have you made a decision regarding your eternity, after this life has been done and over with?
