Mother is looking younger than the daughter.

I would be sad and outraged... it's not gonna happen in my case, but I know it would be self-esteem destroying for a young girl to feel that she looks way too old for her age.

That will depend with things between the two of you. For me, since my mama is a very dear friend to me, in addition of her being my mother, i'll take it as a complement. I always want the best for my mom, and any flattery she receives, it will be treated by me likewise.. If you're a bit not affectionate to your mom, then probably you'll feel awkward..

As a daughter, I don't think I'd be offended but rather I would be happy because my Mom is aging gracefully. It only means, I am a good daughter and she is not having problems with me that's why she does not look problematic and old. In most cases, such flattering comment is not actually what it literally means. The mother is perhaps looking younger than her age but she could not look younger than her daughter for sure. So the daughter need not be offended. She should rather be happy because such flattering words are very pleasant to be heard by a Mother. She should be happy for her mother and be proud of her instead.

I hope nobody tells me this or else I will be super sad. People should never say this, this is taboo. My mom is 30 years older than me. I'd still accept it if they tell me that my mom and I look like sisters but if she looks younger than me, I will be so deppressed and sad and it will make me want to die. :/

hahaha..., hard question to answer beacause i am a man. but in my opinion when people said that your mother is looking younger than you may be its just kidding to respect your mother or is a polite words. but if it is true i think you better to stay calm. may be your mother is really look younger than you but don't be frustated about it.

dear, sometimes i think it must be kidding or flattering on your mom as this will surely make your mother feel happy. As for the daughter, i think you are young, no matter what others talk about the closeness between you and the mother, youth is nerver be ignored. Please believe that.Wish you happy.

Personally, I would feel like they were trying to get on my mom's good side and that they were full of it. Some guy did say something about me and my mom being sisters one day. I just brushed it off as him trying to put a smile on my mom's face. My mom does look young for her age, but not that young.

Well a lot of people have told that way to my mother in front of me. They din't say that she looks younger than me, but they have said that she does not look as if she has such grown up kids. I don't feel anything bad as such for that comment. She feels great about it. Well i don't feel bad may be because i have more people than her who compliment me by guessing the age that is far more less than my actual age. Recently a friend said are you like somewhere between 20 to 21? and i was in the air and was like . Well because i am around 5 to 6 years away from 20 now so you see it is a big compliment, that i look younger.

At first I will be disappointed thinking how old I look that people sees my mom looks younger than me. On the other hand, I will be proud that my mom was able to maintain her younger and fresh looks inspite her age. Then, that will give me a warning that I need to check my looks and visit my dermatologists

I think that being told that way would be a compliment for my mom. Well, the very first time i was told that, I felt I was looking old to be like my mom! But then I realize, I must be really not taking care of myself to look that way. So I need to do something about it, right? But now, when some people would tell me that, it no longer bother me. I feel that my mom is really pretty and doesn't look her age. And I am proud about that.

I agree with someone else at first it would probably insult me but then after thinking about it I would know the person is probably full of crap and is just trying to suck up to my mother for one reason or another. This would never be said to me because my mother is not looking so good now a days... But if it was, I would just think they are trying to get closer to her.

i think, I will feel both, I mean I will be insulted because that means I look old but I will be flattered too, because my mom looks more beautiful and younger than ever. If my mom looks younger than me, it means she knows how to take care of herself and it only proves that she is a cool mom.

hey don't think insulted for small things you just think you got one more sister in your life she is your mother and girls try to maintain like your mother if you have crossed your mother age in future ................ you know what my mom also so young like me but my friends ask me like she is your sister looking so young .......

I would be just smiling and be proud of my mother. For sure the person doesn't mean to embarrass you, and it's just nothing, just forget it. There are people who are just careless in their words and it happen sometimes.

I think this is a terrible comment to me. How come my mom would look younger than me? She was older than me a lot. She belongs to another generation. And you know girls are sensitive to it. So nobody wants to hear this
