Can you suggest any popular Tourist Attraction in Bangkok that is not Museum?
I will be going to Bangkok, Thailand on March 21 and stay until March 24 then March 25 will be our arrival here in Manila. It is my first time to go in Bangkok but my parents have been there so this will be their second time to go there. I know a lot of museums but I am not fan of going museums. I am more on into attractions so what are the popular attractions like amusement park, zoo and where could I ride the Elephant that is located in Bangkok? I don’t like the floating market too since of course if I am going to try it then I have to buy something which is I wouldn’t have lots of pocket money to bring just to buy anything from there.
I still have second thought if we are going to tour since I am the only one who is first time to go there unlike my parents that I think they are already done for the tour last year or 2 years ago. But still I am still hoping just in case we will be asked where to go and explore.

It is a shame you don't want to visit the floating market because there you could take some interesting photos. You wouldn't have to buy anything. I think you would like to see the Golden Temple and take some photos of it. I hope you find somewhere to ride an elephant. Good luck with your trip to Thailand.

Well it is not that I don't like to visit the floating market then even my sister in law told me it is not even recommended because it is kind of expensive. I just don't prefer visiting the floating market because I don't have the budget yet to buy those things. Isn't that you will be tempted to buy on that market place? Especially for the unique once that is the specialty of Thailand?

Well, if I were in Bangkok, I will certainly enjoy the night life here. You can find some interesting elements for the night life, I'm sure. There're famous thai girls shows in most clubs. Thai people is friendly and nice, and the foods are pretty unique as well. I've been to Thailand few times and I like the country. Enjoy your trip.

I have a classmate who became my thesismate who is more often going to that place since he likes the rate that are not that expensive compare to Singapore. He really went there for less decades already especially with his friends. I would love to travel or go back to that place then bring along my friends.

I am sorry but I don't think there are a lot of museums in Bangkok. so correct me if I am wrong here.
As Thailand's main religion is Buddhism, the capital - Bangkok which you are visiting has many famous Buddhist temples and the popular ones are the Golden Buddha Temple, Reclining Buddha Temple and Emerald Buddha Temple. They are the main temples which are being featured in the capital's city tour. Another popular attraction for the Buddhists would be the Four Faced Buddha located at the Grand Hyatt Hotel where it is regarded the ultimate Buddhists' pilgrimage site.
Since you are there over the weekend, I think you will be interested to visit the Weekend Market at Chatuchak which opens only on Saturdays for great bargain shopping. You can literally find almost everything there and be prepared to sweat it out (literally).
Another interesting place to visit would be Chinatown where you can shop and eat local Chinese delicacies and snacks. You can enjoy Hongkong Dim Sum too.
For entertainment, the capital is not short of it. I enjoy watching the Calypso (transvestite) Show, Patpong night market and a good traditional Thai massage.

Hi artemeis Thank you for the interesting information about Bangkok on where to go. So I am now sure that we will be going to Chatuchak market on Saturday since my Mom told me that we will be going to that place. I hope I could also try the Thai massage there on that place itself of where it is originated. Maybe I am talking about temples that I am thought it is museum. But yeah according to my research I am seeing the museums as well that can be visited in Bangkok if not museums then a lot of art galleries. We are going to stay there for 4 days 3 nights which is kind of few days and how I wish that must be 1 week.

I visited Bangkok last year and we were planning on visiting a theme park called Dreamworld, because I had read about that place on the internet, but we didn't have time to go there, so I have no personal experience from the place, but you could look it up online. I am not sure if they their own website, but you can read the reviews on Tripadvisor.
We chose to ride an elephant in Laos instead of Thailand, but it is definately possible to ride an elephant in Thailand as well. I know that there is a national park called Khao Yai where there are elephants and many other animals. The trip from Bangkok to the park takes about 3 hours. Viator arranges a tour to the park and ox cart ride and an elephant ride are included in tour. I know that because we originally wanted to buy that tour. I think that the tour sounds interesting but it not especially cheap, so you might want to choose a different option, but you can visit Viator's site and read about it yourself.
Another thing that I would suggest is a cruise on the river in Bangkok. There are two options. The first option is a private tour for one hour. We did that and we enjoyed it a lot, but those cruises are designed for the tourists and I think that they are too expensive. The river ferry (express boat) is much, much cheaper but it is often crowded and it might be difficult to find a seat. The sellers will try very hard to convince you to take the private tour, but the exprss boat is a better option if you want to save money.

Thank you very much for the interesting information Porscopino. I wonder if it is really worth to go in Dreamworld and what is the rate of the admission there especially for the tourist? Did you bring your passport there in Dreamworld for them to show that you are tourist? I really like to go there because of the roller coaster wherein your feet are hanging.

I am actually eyeing for the bedsupperclub although I doubt if my parents would appreciate it and the people who will accommodate us would want to suggest that place. I am more on listening to the DJs.
