I had told it here in a topic that I had started that I am cross stitching some patterns for my cousins house here in the Philippines. My cousin now resides in the other country but she do have a home here. We are not that close but I am happy she had asked me to make cross stitch for her home. I agreed ofcourse.
My cousin noticed from my facebook account that I love taking pictures. She noticed that some of my shots are not that clear that is why she will give me a digital camera in return! I am looking forward to it already! I will still be making a pattern or two for her and I hope I will be able to finish it before she arrive on March.
Happy Lottings everyone!

Handmade gifts are more precious than store bought. I have tried my hands in cross stitch but never seem to finish what i started. It does take a lot of patience to do cross stitch which is so much lacking in me. I love the finish product ofcourse especially when it is hanged on the walls.

Thanks for your response zandi458!
I like handmade gifts too. I use to make beaded jewelries like bracelets but I lack in patience in that too. It require artistic side in designing which I lack. But I still wish to go back making even just for myself. My best friend now makes keychain with plastic beads and it is so saleable in our schoolmates. I am happy for her.
I do cross stitch but what I can do are the simple ones which don't require so many colors. In that way, I am sure I will be able to finish it. I can't finish complicated patterns and it is just a waste of money

One down, two more to go?
That's very nice of her to give you a new camera for your efforts. Maybe then you can add photos of your work here.

Yeah BarBara, I still have two more to go for my cousin. She asked me to pay for it at first then later, she thought of giving me a cam instead.
I added a photo here yesterday when I posted this topic. Maybe its my connection. I hope I can put the picture later tonight. I still have to find the usb cable wire to the computer from my cell phone shot. The photo had been deleted from this computer because the technician put something called "anti freeze". It means to delete all stored and downloaded pictures and files. :(

Hello Bluespygirl I hope that you are fine. Handcrafting is a lovely hobbie. I have done several projects, two or three for my parent´s home, and two or three for our home. It took me 10 years to finish a Last Supper project.
Two years ago I began sewing a Bethlehem Barn. This Christmas I couldn`t finish it.
But as time passes I have more duties and less time. I have 3 kids, the elder is 14 and the smallest is 10, so I am plain of duties and my speartime is each time reduced more and more.
I`m happy to read that you are sweging for your cousin, and that you`ll be gratified with a camera. You are a very nice family.
Good luck!
Blessings Bluespygirl... dainy

Ten years to finish the last supper?! I am glad that you were still able to finish it even after how many years! Well, I don't think I can do it. I think it has so many colors? I do cross stitch but honestly, what I can do are the simple ones that don't require many colors. Idon't think I can stitch patterns with faces like the last supper and angels.
I have three kids too with ages 14, 12 and 8. I have very limited time too and I just cross stitch in the time that I should be napping. I really want a digital camera for I love taking pictures.
Thanks for your response!

Thanks for sharing
March is coming, hope you have finished it or you are working on it, my daughter is good in this, she makes not only for her home but also for ours, we have that we use as freeze handle cover, snack plate cover etc.
My god daughter in US sent some to be used as kitchen rags and one as blanket for my grand daughter, it was pure wool.

That's very nice of your cousin for giving you a digital camera in return for the cross stitches you made for her.
I'm sure you will be able to complete the cross stitches for her in time.

I love cross stitching! I also did a cross stitch of a rose bouquet for our house in the Philippines. Now my aunt in law is getting me to try crocheting. I don't know if I will be able to do something as good as the cross stitches that I have done but I can try.
Even though you and your cousin are not that close, its nice to hear that you two still keep in touch and even share gifts with one another.

Thanks for your response. I had attached the actual photo of the crucifix pattern that I have finished. I hope that it will be successful uploading. The internet connection is not that good again. :(
Is this the same as the pattern that you had done as gift to your father? I do cross stitch but what I can do are the simple ones that don't require many threads.

I have done a similar pattern before. I made it actually for my Dad for his birthday. I had it framed and he placed it in his office. The pattern wasn't too hard, but I just felt that time that it was a perfect gift for my Dad coz it is something that I did.
