So ..I was walking down from post office and I saw this vegetable vendor. I bought some vegetables from him, and we started talking. I asked him from where he is...
He said Bihar and for a fraction of second...I was ..you know...scared...after all, it was guys from Bihar who had done the heinous thing on December 16.
So I just said Bihar is it and he sort of understood my apprehension...and he said...Amma(mother) that is the reason the state is not becoming rich. I had not raised the issue...he is an uneducated man, and yet...he understood my unspoken thoughts. He said we also curse them for putting us to shame.
And then he said..I have roamed the entire country and never met people like Hyderabadis...(Are you all listening)...
They are so helpful...he narrated how he met with an accident sometime ago
, and a rich man got down from his car, took him to his home, got him some water, made him sit on the sofa, got him something to drink and eat...and then took him for some injection. The following morning the vendor took some monies to the rich guy...and the guy was kind of ...I just helped because you are elderly person. I dont need that money...
And the vegetable vendor said..while I didnt make a fortune, I know I am safe and cared for here...
I love that man who helped him, and I love all of you who help another person..I was helped by auto drivers once when I met with an accident.
Have you such nice things to say about your city?

Hi vandana
Of course we love them. No second thought . Two of my friends are Bihari's .One of them is muslim too. But This never changed/had any affect on our friendship till today. They themselves are very sad about the people of their state who are responsible for all these. They always say they feel safe here.

Even I have a muslim friend and he has been a good friend of mine - even during the Babri Masjid and other instances of Hindu-Muslim riots, we and our friendship has stood good. And for biharis, I had two of them as friends and today despite the fact that they are settled and busy with their professional lives at different cities, we still are in touch though occasionally, but the warmth is still there - we can feek that warmth when we talk or even exchange emails

I have one or two muslim friends but the percentage of my north indians friends is more.I think when you fight amongst your self for the crimes of others and statements and you are supporting their cause of divide and rule.

Mumbai the name only suggests all i will not talk about the first diplomatic issue but i will talk about the helpful people around here there was a incident on 26'th of july when our area was flooded with water it was hard to get moving around and i was stuck on a hill where i have gone to see how much water has enterted our area.
Some people who were evacuated saw me instead of fleeing away they some how rescued me as it was easy to climb the hill but after so much rain it was very slippery and hard to get down...I was 14 at that time.

Well, please dont enact Mr Thakrey Jr. He already has messing up things with Biharis and I guess one Thakrey is enough a curse on India. The good and bad exist in all societies, in all parts of the world and blaming an entire community just because of a few bad people doesnt ever make sense to me. I understand the apprehensions when you meet a bihari or even a muslim but then, I have been helped by both communities at sometime or the other and am sure about this.
Not at least in Bhubaneswar but in Pune definitely I have been helped by someone I dont know his religion or ethnicity. He gave me a free ride to my workplace even though I had asked him to stop and leave me just because I had not got any money with me. But he was too kind and said - your office is on my way and so i can drop you there and that was in 2005-6.
In Bhubaneswar, things are worse today and getting more bad. I remember during my school days and even during college days, people were more humble - today even the sellers and roadside vendors think they are doing some favor by selling at whooping prices and manners...? What are they?

I did that didnt I ...but the guy brought me back to my senses.
Actually the thought came to my mind because of the low punishment that commission pointed out. And made me wonder if many Biharis were out there in the capital due high rate of unemployment in their state, employed for wrong reasons, you know...which prompted the ruling parties to go soft on such heinous stuff. That is how it came up...nothing more.
It certainly had some logic behind rather than anything similar to Thackeray Jr. lol

You can not blame a whole nation for what some people do. But fact is there is a big difference between muslims everywhere in the world. The ones who are killing around are not helpfull to others. They don't care to threaten, kill, they are the extremists. World wide (Look at Mali at this moment or Egypt) people are afraid of them and there is a good reason for that. You can also not blame all Americans for the Klu-Klux-Klan or all Germans for the Neo-Nazis who still exist (mostly in other countries and not in Germany itself). You can't blame all Jews for killing in Palestina, etc. It is a fact that in countries where freedom of speach, freedom of what to wear/how to dress, what to read etc. most problems (extrimistic behavour) does come from. But still there are good and bad, helpfull, attentive people everywhere. Since every person has a character as well. Some are too blind to see reality or just not able to see/hear how it works in the real world. Blind because of the way they are raised or educated or brain washed. Those who can see the difference I hope are able to see the good people around them as well. No matter if they are christians, muslims, bhiaris, believe in the god or goddess or mother nature or nothing.

The Sunnis and Aga Khan muslims are better than Shias.
Aga Khan muslims in particular are very gentle and hardly inclined to group together for waging war against another community.
But my experience with muslims has been good, so I cannot say they are bad simply because they are bad elsewhere. We all are good to somebody and bad to somebody. I dont know what their compulsions are elsewhere. I however know that my folks have not been too nice to me. So I feel it can happen within our community so why condemn them.
But whatever be the case...our denizens have made me very proud today..:)

I agree with you. There had been anarchy in Bihar for quite a long time.Earlier north India had been the center of great historical wars.Freedom for struggle was also mainly centered in north India. After independence there was lack of proper governance in the state.Almost the whole of north India had been a disturbed part of our country.
Now the scenario is changing. But one thing, all murders and rapes etc are not committed by Biharis.I have been visiting Bihar and UP frequently.I am from UP myself. My ancesters had been migrated to Odhisha from north India.
I too love all Indians,be they Hindus,Muslims,Christians or from any religion. The only condition is they must be simple and good mannered. They must not be criminal minded or terrorists and traitors.I love all human beings.
All crimes in Mumbai or Delhi are not committed by north Indians as vote garners like Raj Thakrey alleges.

I dont love any repligions. Instead of just love the peoples. But what is happening is people involved so much into religion and the are sometimes directed wrong way without knowing them. Because some people driving such peoples in a wrong direction. I never agree on this.
