What Would You Do If Someone Calls You in a Midnight When You are Sleeping?

If it is an emergency, I would want to know about it. Perhaps, your friend needs you to take him to the emergency room. So, for emergencies, would you not want to be available to help your friend? And if you had an emergency in the middle of the night and needed to call your family or friends, would you want them to turn off their cell phones? You can tell your family and friends that if it is an emergency and because you have a caring and compassionate heart towards your family and friends, they can text you that it is an emergency, that way, you can read the message first, without answering your phone. I have told family and friends that in an emergency, they are to phone me anytime. And I have family and friends, in an emergency, I can phone or text them anytime. It is wonderful to have that support system - to know that you have family and friends who are willing to be there for you - and you are willing to be there for them - at any time.

If I got a call at that time I would most definitely answer it because everyone knows not to call me at those hours unless it is an emergency. So if someone called at that time I know it would be something VERY important!

It bothers me when I get a phone call or text message from someone when I am trying to sleep. It does happen and I have to remember to keep everything down. People need to realize unless it really is an emergency, there are better times to call and text someone, so rememberto be more courteous and remember this.

i would see first who is it calling, if it would be someone close to me like my parents, brother or my husband and best friend, i would still answer it as it might be something of importance or an emergency.

Danger situation and I feel irritated or annoying if anyone ring the phone or bell in midnight but if the problem is serious like about health or any sad news then I not annoyed. No friend some time call is urgent so if you know the call is from any family members relatives then received it.

This situation is very true, most especially in some weird cases such as someone is calling you from abroad wherein they have different timezones on your country. I do have had encounter someone that calls me up in the late of the night, I entertain the call but I’d like to be frank with person that calls me up that I was already sleeping and he/she is calling in the late of the night.

In fact my cellphone will be off automatically when it is after 11:30pm. But if someone calls me so late, I will feel worried because usually it will not be a good news to receive a call in the midnight.

I'm often still awake at midnight, so the only person that I'd hate to call me at that time is my youngest brother because he always wants me to sort items for him which takes hours. He has really helped me a few times with my daughters so I don't want to tell him no. If somebody calls me in my sleep, I'll be mad, cursing to myself, but I'll still be calm toward the person on the other end. Might not be so peaceful though if they're calling me for nothing.

Fortunately for me, I've never had that happen to me.

I used to mute my cellphone at night all the time coz sometimes my sister in law would be calling and be chatting until almost 2am. I did tried to avoid that. But I realized that there might be emergency calls or other important calls that I need to take, so I no longer mind taking up calls in the middle of the night.

I've had people do that to me before if it's family it's no big deal but I've had friends do that to me and I got angry because I have two little kids at the time I just had my daughter so we don't stay up that late any more at that time and I don't like the phone ringing to wake the kids up.

if i see that the one calling is close or important then i might answer if i can, but if i am too sleepy already then i could just turn it off and ignore them as well.

I'm gonna pick the phone up, but I would be pretty angry if it wasn't an emergency, because who knows what can happen. But for sure I hate people who call me at sleep time just because they are bored.

It happened to me sometimes that my friends called me up in the middle of my sleep especially midnight.its very annoying for me also yet disturbing just calling for a non sense topic..i dont turn off my phone but i will silent my phone instead so by then if they SMS me i can read it when i get up in the morning.

If I get a call in the middle of the night, I answer the phone. It is disturbing but I can't turn off my cell phone because I use it as an alarm. I usually answer it and listen to what the person has to say. I would usually respond "uh huh" "yea..." and then wait until they hang up. I don't feel good about hanging up on someone even if they were the one who was rude and called at an unreasonable hour.

A pleasant day Janurmas, I have experienced it once that one of my friend had called me up late in the evening. And it is really disturbing, though I have answered the call. But after answering it, he just told me, "sorry", since it was unintentionally. Oh my, after he have disturbed me, he will just say the call was not meant to be, sorry...

First of all it dpends who is calling. Some friends are just mischevious, they just ring you to disturb you. I really hate when some body rings me while l am sleeping. If its emergency, then its alright, as family and relatives call you in those times.

My friends know better than to call me in the middle of the night, because they know that I don't sleep that easily. So whenever they call me at midnight, it must be awfully important or an emergency. But if it happened and its something so mundane or just a friend with something not so important to discuss, I would tell her straight that I cannot talk and I was sleeping. If she's a good friend I'm sure she will understand. She might get offended but then I can always make it up to her by buying her her coffee the following morning.

Well, for me, I answer calls always. Even some just want to talk with me some random things, I pick those calls up. When its midnight and someone calls me, I answer it then greet him/her "Rare to receive a call at this kind of hour, what's up?" To sum it up, important or not - I pick the calls. :)

its too annoying for me. when somebody call me at midnight its make so angry for me
