Cell phone case for the Queen's jubilee?

Maybe UK people can answer me on this. Was the jubilee that much of a historical milestone or great event that it's justifiable for some to buy a cell phone case dedicated to that event?
I myself find it a bit crazy and a waste of money. Would I buy a cell phone case which I could wear for some weeks? No, I don't think so. Maybe if I took part in the actual event, not only as a spectator. But, if I think about it, I wouldn't buy a cell phone case, cutlery set, stationery, jewelry etc. if something like that, something grand happened in my own country (from a really good Olympics result to a Eurovision first place). I'm not that patriotic.
But I'd love to hear your opinions about it.

2012 was an amazing year in the UK.
From the Jubilee to the Olympics/paralympics. Bradley Wiggin's winning the Tour de France to Andy Murray winning the US open.
My Children collected Olympic merchandise, The even attended a torch event - 2012 and the events will never be repeated and if someone wants to buy something to remember it by, then who are we to judge?
Eurovision? - Seriously

OK, I now, Eurovision is not for everyone's taste, and I know what people in the UK think about it :). In my country, it's just becoming more popular, and it would be a great achievement for us, as we have basically no relations to any other country, nor have we won one (I'm talking about Hungary). And I like it. It's my guilty pleasure :).
When I was a kid, I collected Olympics telephone cards, but I collected phone cards anyways, I just treasured the Olympics one a bit more. But now, as an adult, I'm not collecting seasonal stuff.
