do you bathe your dog when it's cold and raining?

My dogs' bathing schedule is already overdue and I wanted to give him a bath today but it's a cold and rainy day. I wonder if you still go ahead and give your pets their bath when it's the schedule and it's raining. What do you practice over there? I am postponing the bath because it might not be good for them and they might get sick. What's the big deal?

I bath my dog whenever it is necessary. If she is dirty, I bath her, no matter if it's cold or rainy. But if it is cold, I make sure I dry her coat well, because I don't want her to catch a cold. I usually bath her late in the evening, after we went outside for her duties. I bath and dry her coat well, especially when it's cold. If her coat is shorter, two big towels are enough to dry her hair. If she's shaggy (like she usually is during winter) I must use the hair dryer. She accepts it well, unless I try to blow the hot air to her face. Well, if the weather is rainy, the next day she will dirty her furnishings again, but that doesn't request a complete bath.

Oh, I feel so guilty now for always finding excuses when it comes to bathing them.

Our dogs have a scheduled bathing time. Usually it's twice a week and I relay do not mind if its cold or raining. I see no problem with it since after their bath they are just inside our house and I usually towel them dry after the bath.

Wow, I can see how lucky your dogs are JP. Our house is too small to accommodate all my three pet dogs, so they just stay outside, I made their own place for them.

General rule is once a week when it is cold outside. But I am not taking the chance. better he stinks a little than go to the vet because he has a cold. Also, he's on Front line so i don't bathe him that much. I compensate the smell with perfume or powder.

That's right, our dogs are always on the front line. I think I need to stick to once a week bathing.

We bathe our dog every night when we go home from work even its cold for more than a month but unfortunately our dog became weak. He got colds. With this experience we learn that being so much clean is not good for dogs health. That is why we give our dog a bath every other day to prevent him from any kind of sickness

Oh. I think daily bathing is not good. Others bathe their dogs every other day like you do most especially when the dogs get inside the house.

Hi Mebu! Now I feel guilty about postponing their bathing schedule. It's just my laziness probably.

I do take a bath every day whatever the weather is and I don't get sick so I believe that this goes true with dogs. No I don't bathe them every day but every 5 days and I don't postpone whatever the weather is. They enjoy bathing and they don't get sick. They are already used to this kind of bathing schedule so I bet they will get sick if they don't get their bathe as scheduled.

Thanks for that, Salonga. I guess it's just me feeling cold when it's rainy.
