Books from previous decades

Recently I have been reading a lot of books from the 1960's and 1970's. I am still able to find those books at my local library and I have enjoyed most of those books. I have discovered a new author that I really like and most of his books were published in the 1970's. I find it interesting to notice the difference between the things that he describes from that time and the things that we experience today and the kind of society that we have today. I also read new books, but I like many of the popular Danish authors from the period between 1960 and 1980.
Do you usually read books that were published recently or do you like to read books from previous decades? Are there any old authors (authors who are no longer alive or no longer active) that you really like? Which authors?

Wow! i wish i could find books so old. I love reading old books. I want those books which you are reading. Can you tell me their names? I am very sure i won't find them here, but i will try my best, as here we have a British library. So i think i should find good collection of books there. I would love if you share some of your favorite reads there.

At the moment I am reading the books by a Danish author called Torben Lange. I am not sure if his books have been translated to English, but you could look for his name at the library in your country. I think that his books are very interesting. The books aren't historical books as such, but I still learn a lot about the past when I read them because he describes the lifestyles and living conditions of the past. I am happy that we are able to find those old books at my local library. They place all of the old books in the basement and you can find some really old books there. One of the oldest books that I found was published in the 1940's, but they also have plenty of books from the 60's and the 70's.

i prefer economic books rather than literature, some classic economic books are already one hundred years. So,one book doesn't disappear for ten years even hundreds of years, which is a good book.
Except that,i can calm down and enjoy my time when i read a classic book.how about your feelings?

I also like to read classic books, some of books were published many years ago, but they are still very interesting and worth reading Some of the books that I have been reading in the last couple of month are about 40 or 50 years old, but I still find them very interesting. Fortunately I am still able to borrow those books because my local library keeps the old books in the basement. I find it interesting to explore the old books there and sometimes I find some books that I really enjoy.

Hi I remember "Little women" I read it many years ago. I loved "Anne of Green Gables" My best friend had all of the books and she let me borrow them. I have also watched the movie version. I collected the books about Sherlock Holmes when I was younger, but I don't have them anymore. I have also read some of his Arhur Conan Doyle's short stories (horror stories).
