well, i don't know how to describe my feeling after reading my advisor's email.
Since i completed my dissertation and presentation file, i sent it to him and he said that, till from now to the date i go back to vietnam (February, 15), i should work on one more manuscript... huh? one more paper? OMG, i did work so hard, working 14 hours per day, no day off during 2 months to complete 1 manuscript and the dissertation. Currently my energy is almost empty, but he told me work on one more paper...

Where are you currently studying? Does your professor told you where and why you need to submit another one considering your defense is near?

I can't argue with the money bit. The same goes for the committee. guess you have the manuscript for you defense, then the presentation and your research article (basically what your whole research will look like,kinda a summary) for a peer-related journal? is that the third one?

Is it just you he asked to do one more paper or all the students? What do you have to write about and what are you studying. I hope he is giving you praise and telling you how well your dissertation. You do need encouragement as well, and acknowledgement that you have put so much time into your work, I hope he realizes the hours you have put into your work!

My dissertation is completed already and right now i am very lazy to work, i just think of going home only...
in here, students have to do research and write papers and submit it to journals...that's why it is nice when a student has many publications.
I don't need any praise from my advisor, i am happy because i could complete my dissertation and my study...finally i can leave school...

One more paper? What for. I mean you already completed one right? Is that also for the presentation ? As far as i know we usually do only one .
Is your professor not satisfied with your first dissertation?

no, my dissertation is completed already. But in here, prof. likes papers a lot, he will be so happy when he has many papers...that's why he always ask students work and working more to have more papers.
In fact, i have 2 papers published, i did one more papers for my dissertation while the requirement for graduation is 2 papers only.
