So Ready To Go!

My husband and I decided last night where we are going for our 8th wedding anniversary in April. Our first vacation together alone as a couple in the 9 years we have been together! As soon as we get our taxes back we will be paying for it so we can go. It is in Virginia, in the mountains. A beautiful log cabin, with tons of things to do in the area. A lake, mountains, caverns, museums, national park, a ski resort, a theme park, etc... It looks so gorgeous and has amazing reviews! Plus it is affordable! For 4 nights, it will be $300. Not bad for the whole cabin to ourselves, most hotels cost more than that and you only get one room... I know it's not for a while yet but I am super excited! And our kids will be going to my older sister's house which will be their vacation since they don't go there often and they will get to play with their cousins. =) My sister said she would do fun things with them too. We will be 3 hours from her house for our vacation, so if we need to come back for our kids or something happens at least we are only a drive away. I cannot wait for April!

Actually studies indicate that people get as much good and pleasure from planning and anticipating a vacation as they do from the actual experience. So, planning and talking about it makes it and even better thing. It probably also holds true when you come back that it is a good experience to remember and think about. I hope you guys have a really wonderful time and I know you will.

I know, I feel that already. I am so happy planning it all out since this is the first time we are really getting to do this. =) I have been looking every day to make sure we have a plan and not just sitting around when we go and I am enjoying every second of it! I know we will too, thank you!

Wow dear, you are going to have some good days soon. By listening your excitement i am feeling happy that your vacation is going to be a fun filled moment. And your kids also going to enjoy their time, i know small kids love being with cousins lot of time because they all have something in common and they gel along well. I am sure you both will get some good times to cherish and also you will get to get out of all the daily bore chores that you do everyday. Do share more about the upcoming vacation.

This holiday for your wedding anniversary sounds nice. A cabin all to yourselves and no kids to be responsible for. What a nice time for the two of you. ANd it sounds like your kids will have fun too. That is always nice when everyone is happy. Happy Anniversary early.

It is great that you are finally going to get a chance to spend some time alone with your husband. I guess that I should value my time with my boyfriend even more than what I do, since one of these days we will (hopefully) have kids. Then, getting any real time alone with my guy will be so much more difficult.

Thank you! I am very excited about it as well. And yes I think you should most definitely enjoy your time now because we have not gone on a date together in months and months now. And like I said, our first vacation in 9 years without the kids just as a couple. That is a long time! So, yes enjoy your time now before kids, Lol. Take it from a wife and mother who knows!

Sounds great LMB. It will be nice for you and your hubby to get away after all this time. I love cabins but haven't been able to afford one in a few years. I miss it.

I understand not being able to afford it, we are using the tax money for it. That is the only way we can do it... But the cabin is cheaper than a hotel would be in that area. =) I have never been in a cabin and have always wanted to so we finally have our chance!

I think that it is a great way to spend your anniversary. It is like re-living your very first day as a couple! I am sure you will have lots of fun.

Yeah after 9 years of being together with no vacation for us I think it is much needed. I told my husband I think each year at tax time we should go on one vacation. This way it gives us something to look forward to and we will have the money since we get money each year at tax time. I am sure we will have fun and rekindle some romance!
